wxruby unfriendly to other threads?
I''ve seen a few e-mails about multithreading with respect to wxruby but nothing recent. Unless I''m mistaken, and that may be, there still appear to be problems. The following code seems to hang my spawned thread in favor of the wxruby event loop: Thread.new do puts "in thread" loop do sleep 5 puts "looping" end end puts "main

Bitmap memory leaks (Bug 251)?
I see that this problem was noted a while ago (http://rubyforge.org/ tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=251&group_id=35&atid=218) but it seems not to have received much attention. Any chance that it will be looked at anytime soon? So far, I prefer wxRuby to Ruby/Tk because of that closer coupling with the native window manager. However, the memory leak is just murdering me.

Just have to ask but...
.... where do you get the time to work on all of this, Alex? I''m constantly scraping for time (and consciousness) to work on code in my off hours... Posted this in "dev" last night but I''m not sure that anyone reads it
I''ve been using RSpec in anger for perhaps a total of a few days and just started playing with Story Runner. Love it. I also started working on a patch, which ought to be simple, to allow for Scenarios without supplied blocks to be treated as pending -- much like "it" in Spec::DSL::ExampleAPI. That said, I noticed something that seemed odd and chatted with Rein

Progress on wxruby-swig
Greetings, I wanted to give you all a progress report on wxruby-swig, the next generation of wxruby. As most of you know, we are in the process of rewriting wxruby from scratch, using SWIG instead of the custom wxpp template tool in the current version. Using SWIG will make it easier for more people to add support for new classes and methods, and will make it easier to optimize (and fix)

WxRuby refresh from a long running function
Hi All, This is my first post and I am a complete (well almost complete) noob at WxRuby. I have programmed in Ruby for a while, but now I am trying my hand at a GUI base program running on Windows. There is quite a bit of serial communication between the app and a external device. The problem I am facing is a function call that takes a long time to complete before returning to WxRuby.
