Loosing mouse pointer on centos 4.1
I have a dell inspiron 8200 laptop . Install went fine.
After booting and using my laptop for a while my mouse pointer
just disappears.
Any ideas?
Any way to restart my mouse pointer?
I tried doing CTL-ALT+F1
and ALT_F7 thinking that would reinitialize the mouse but no.
Only thing that works is reboot.
THanks,
Jerry

Restarting mouse services
I move my notebook around my office. Sometimes I am using the internal
pointers, sometimes a USB mouse, and sometimes a USB keyboard/mouse
adapter that is plugged into a kvm (actually two of them).
With one of these USB k/m adapters, when I plug in, the system fails to
recognize the mouse (but no problem with the keyboard). The 2 adapters
are the same brand/model (Aten), but the KVMs are

mouse issues in centos 4
Hi all,
I am the IT department here at my office, I take care of everything
pretty much. I chose Centos4 to deploy to my 50 workstations as it was
the most compatible with the RHEL. We need the RHEL compatibility for
support contract for different tools we use. So far it has been great.
I have noticed a few issues since having 50 machines all exactly the
same installed with centos 4. I have

Using a composite device under Centos 4.8 - no mouse clicks
I recently got an EEEbox. This is an Atom based nettop. It came with
a wireless keyboard/mouse which talk to a 2.4Ghz USB adapter (a Chicony
device as it turns out).
Now if I plug this adapter into a Centos 4.8 machine both the keyboard
and mouse are detected... but mouse clicks aren't. I can move the mouse,
the scroll wheel works, but buttons 1/2/3 aren't detected. Neither in X

Centos 6.4 How to increase console font size.
Just installed 6.4 on and old Dell laptop and the font only takes up half
the screen. I have tried setfont and altering grub.conf vga= but it does
not work. I have read that I must disable uEFI but have not idea how to do
that. Can anyone help? I only use this machine in console mode and I just
want the full screen font size that I used to have in 5.x versions.
Thanks,

way to disable keyboard and mouse ports
Is there a way to disable the keyboard and mouse ports?
I have a machine in a public area running an application
that no-one needs to touch.
However, someone could come up and plug a keyboard in
it and mouse and be logged in as that user (not root).
Is there a way to disable the mouse and keyboard so
only remote ssh connections will control the PC if
changes need to be made.

More issues with xl on 4.1.0-rc
I have spotted another couple of bugs when testing with xl on 4.1.0-rc and
a xen/next-2.6.38 based kernel.
If I use pygrub as a boot loader and run xl create -c host then
the console disconnects once pygrub is finished. I can reconnect to the
console session but it is a bit annoying to have to do so.
If I set vfb = [ ''sdl'' ] in the configuration file, then I can type in the

kernel compile and console mouse
Hello everyone,
I had to recompile my kernel to enable NTFS support. I used as base the
i686 kernel config and enabled the read-only NTFS module. After booting my
custom kernel it all works fin (it reads the NTFS partition :-) ) but the
console mouse (it?s a text only pc) won?t work. Restarting the gpm service
makes the poiter show but won?t respond to mouse moves or clicks and will
vanish

[LLVMdev] [LNT] Does LNT's mouse wheel zooming work well anywhere?
This is only a minor annoyance, but mouse wheel zooming on LNT graphs is pretty broken on at least OSX. It does not work correctly on Chrome, Safari or Firefox. On Safari and Chrome the zoom is way to sensitive, on Firefox, the page scrolls while mouse wheel zooming. This appears to be a limitation of the flot graphing package we use.
Does LNT’s mouse wheel zooming work better for people Linux

Mouse problems running windows xp as a virtual console in opensolaris B81
Hi all,
The mouse is not really useful in the virtual machine.
The actual mouse is like miles away and in order to click on the buttons it is very frustrating to push the buttons.
Does anybody have a solution for this.
thanks in advance
Filip

Works as in "it zooms", but I personally hate it zooming on mouse
wheel, since it changes the behaviour of the browser depending where
the cursor is, which for me is just bad design. I'd rather it worked

Mouse Cursor drifts in some directx games
Hello,
I am currently attempting to run some windows games through wine, specifically Fable - The Lost Chapters and The Elder Scrolls III - Morrowind and I am experiencing problems with my cursor drifting during game play.
When I start the game (as soon as the menu screen) the mouse is initially stable, but after I move the mouse it will begin to drift vertically down at a constant speed

Getting mouse to work using wine and Unreal Tournament
Hi,
Wine seems to run UT fine and is nice and quick. The only problem I
have is that the mouse does not seem to work for looking up and down
(or side to side). The mouse buttons fire the guns, but the mouse
movement seems to be locked to standard X11 window functions.
Is there any way or setting ut to control the mouse fully?
Thanks,
Neil
