[PATCH] patch to support super page (2M) with EPT
Attached are the patches to support super page with EPT. We only support 2M size. And shadow may still work fine with 4K pages. The patches can be split into 3 parts. Apply order is as attached. tool.diff To allocate 2M physical contiguous memory in guest except the first 2M and the last 2M. The first 2M covers special memory, and Xen use the last few pages in guest memory to do special

[VTD][RESEND]add a timer for the shared interrupt issue for vt-d
Keir, It''s a resending patch for the timeout mechanism to deal with the shared interrupt issue for vt-d enabled hvm guest. We modify the patch following your comments last time and make some other small fix: 1) We don''t touch the locking around the hvm_dpci_eoi(). 2) Remove the HZ from the TIME_OUT_PERIOD macro which may confuse others. 3) Add some

[VTD][PATCH] a time out mechanism for the shared interrupt issue for vtd
Attached is a patch for shared interrupt between dom0 and HVM domain for vtd. Most of problem is caused by that we should inject interrupt to both domains and the physical interrupt deassertion then may be delayed by the device assigned to the HVM. The patch adds a timer, and the time out value is sufficient large to tolerant the delaying used to wait for the physical interrupt deassertion.

[PATCH] unshadow the page table page which are used as data page
The patch deals with the situation which guest OS uses unused page table pages as data pages and write data to them. The pages will still be grabbed by Xen as page table pages, and lots of unnecessary page faults occur. The patch will check if the data guest writes to the page table contains valid mfn or not, if not, we believe it is a data page now and then unshadow the page. The patch

PF_RING crashed the CentOS5 - BUG: soft lockup - CPU#7
Hi all, The PF_RING seems not to work smoothly in CentOS 5. Several day before, I patched the kernel 2.6.25.3 and installed the PF_RING-patched kernel in my CentOS5. Based on the PF_RING, I developed my program to capture the network packages. I wished it can work until the machine power is off. Unforturnately, no matter how to adjust my program, whole system can not run more than 48 hours.

Will Xen support PCI add-on card for serial ports?
hi, It looks that Xen currently only support ISA serial port, which is onboard. Is there any plan to support the PCI serial port? Thanks, Neo -- I would remember that if researchers were not ambitious probably today we haven''t the technology we are using! _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com

Centos as a network recorder and request
I am looking at using CentOS to use as a network recorder to enhance our security analysis. During my research I found that the linux kernel (not CentOS specific) has a bad problem of dropping packets on gigabit connections. This problem exists even on a dual xeon system with 1gb ram using a minimal install. Once I found the ethereal performance wiki I realized the problem was not in the system

I would like to know that very much Thank you in advance Bo Ma _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list

updated: kvm networking todo wiki
Hey guys, I've updated the kvm networking todo wiki with current projects. Will try to keep it up to date more often. Original announcement below. ---- I've put up a wiki page with a kvm networking todo list, mainly to avoid effort duplication, but also in the hope to draw attention to what I think we should try addressing in KVM: http://www.linux-kvm.org/page/NetworkingTodo This page

How to set read.table variables to vectors?
The summary stats for the xin and yin variables below are correct. However, if I use plot(xin, yin), an exception is thrown saying that "object xin is not found." Also, it is apparent that I can't successfully replace the x and y vectors with values from xin and yin. The four plots on one panel are showing but the range of x and y is only [0,1], and therefore, it seems like an
