Configure LAGG Interface?
Greetings- I'd like to configure multiple copper NICs on a server running CentOS 6.2 in a LAGG configuration for better throughput to the core switch. After quite a bit of searching, I'm not seeing anything of the sort. Is LAGG specific to the BSD world and the HP switches I'm running? Or, does it go by a different name? Bonding perhaps? If so, is bonding compatible with LAGG? --Tim

4 GBit nic bonding new centos 6.3 system with cisco VSS switches - suggestions?
Hi, I install a new 4 Port GBit Server with centos 6.3 and I'd like to use nic bonding. Searching for a good how to pinted to this page: http://www.how2centos.com/centos-6-channel-bonding/ My question: Is this the current, good way to bond the 4 ports? The other question: What should I set on the cisco switch for the Port-channel options? As far as I understand for performance and

Wait for network delay
I am running NUT as part of FreeNAS 9.2.0. I have looked through the manuals, but I don't see how to address my issue. The box has 4 NIC's in a LACP LAGG group. It takes a while for LACP to finish, and NUT tries to start before packets are flowing. NUT will complain endlessly about communication errors and never establish SNMP communication with my APC UPS. If I stop NUT and restart

bce and lagg revisited
well, I tried to narrow this down a bit by removing lagg from the equation, but the switch requires LACP to be active on those ports so I can't test in isolation unfortunately. Is anyone running 7.2 on a DL360 G5 with working ether ? -pete.

iscsi storage, LACP or Multipathing | Migration or rebuild?
Hi, I do have one iscsi storage with 4 GBit nics of which currently only one is configured with an ip and which is in productive use by one cent os 6.3 server. Doing some research brought me to the idea to use some nic bonding or multipathing for that storage, but multipathing I did about four or five years ago only once :) Furthormore I can't find the ultimate answer (may be there is not

"ConnectTo" to two server for fault-tolerance
Hello, I tried to use two ?ConnectTo? entries in my config. If both servers are up, anything is working as expected. But if one of the two servers is offline or not reachable I will not get a connection at all. Not even to the reachable server. I would like to have it fault tolerant, is this possible? Tripplite SNMPwebcard communication lost and established randomly
I missed that snmp-ups set pollfreq to 30 by default. I'd hope that it would set deadtime to an appropriate value as well than, no? Is there a way to query what the settings are or what the defaults are? I'm going to set POLLFREQ=30 and DEADTIME = 90 and see if that has any effect. I'll check for the logs. And if that doesn't get my anywhere I'll look at trying to simulate

Weird operator behaviour
Hi, I have a dataset called 'fish'. fish$Species returns extract 1. When I use fish$Species != c("CRA","PHC"), i.e. I want all species except "CRA" and "PHC", I get extract 2 which is blatantly wrong. Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong? Opinions on bonding modes?
I am working on setting up an NFS server, which will mainly serve files to web servers, and I want to setup two bonds. I have a question regarding *which* bonding mode to use. None of the documentation I have read suggests any mode is "better" than other with the exception of specific use cases (e.g. switch does not support 802.3ad, active-backup). Since my switch *does* support

Teaming vs Bond?
I'm looking at tuning up a new site and the bonding issue came up A google search reveals that the gluster docs (and Lindsay) recommend balance-alb bonding. However, "team"ing came up which I wasn't familiar with. Its already in RH6/7 and Ubuntu and their Github page implies its stable. The libteam.org people seem to feel their solution is more lightweight and it seems easy

Discrepancy in the regression coefficients for Cox regression - PBC data set
Hi, When I run the following Cox proportional hazards model on the Mayo clinic's PBC data set (given in the "survival" package), the regression coefficients do not agree with the results presented in Table 4.6.3 (p. 195) of Fleming & Harrington's book. library(survival) data(pbc) ans.cox <- coxph(Surv(time, status) ~ log(bili) + log(alb) + age + log(protime) +

Sound lagging if using simultaneous sound output
Hi, I have an Nvidia GTX 560 and I have my TV connected to it and get sound from the graphics-card to the TV. I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 and in the sound config I can choose to have the sound output simultaneous through the regular soundcard and through the Nvidia card out to my TV. However when I use that option the sound in Wine, only wine, starts to lagg like crazy. It's fine if I use

How to require a defined type...
Hi all, I''m struggling with the following: I have a defined type wrapped in a class: class myclass { define mytype(bla) { file { "blabla": .... } exec { "blablabla": ... } } } And I access the defined type in my other class by doing this: class otherclass { include myclass myclass::mytype { "alb": ... } # and here I want to
