[PATCH] Check for, and uninstall, VMware Tools installed from tarball
VMware Tools can be installed by RPM or from a tarball. We were only looking for the RPM. If it was installed by tarball, we would end up leaving it in place. If VMware Tools detects that it is not running on a VMware platform when it starts, it will clumsily try to uninstall itself, leading to misconfiguration. This patch looks for tarball-installed VMware Tools and uninstalls it. Fixes

[PATCH 1/2] ESX: Look harder for potential transfer failures
Although I can't reproduce, I seem to have had an incomplete transfer which wasn't picked up by the existing error handling. This change adds some more sanity checks: * Check for error on close() (should have been doing this anyway) * Check that the bytes received == reported content length --- lib/Sys/VirtV2V/Transfer/ESX.pm | 14 +++++++++++++- 1 files changed, 13 insertions(+), 1

vmxnet3 patch for CentOS6 kernel?
Hi, Could CentOS kernel keepers apply following patch on current kernel? http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/95785/ (Current as: 2.6.32-71.29.1.el6.x86_64) With the patch applied, and a ".local" kernel built, I get 30% higher throughput with vmxnet3 in my IP routing node, than when using e1000 "card" at the same. Without the patch, the TCP flow over vmxnet3 driver on a

Postfix dying
Hello list, Postfix is dying on one of my servers almost nightly. This system is running CentOS5 with postfix-2.3.3-2. In the morning (after noticing it died) I try to run `service postfix stop` and I get a failed start. Running `ps ax | grep postfix` I can see one process still running for postfix. After killing this, I am able to run `service postfix start`. I see a lot of this in my

[PATCH 0/4] Add SUSE guest converter to virt-v2v
This is a new conversion module to convert SUSE Linux and openSUSE guests. The converter is based on the RedHat module, and should offer the same functionality on both SUSE and RedHat hosts. There are a few additional messages in this module, such as reporting of packages when installing through zypper or the local virt-v2v repo. These messages don't necessarily flow unless verbose switches

[PATCH v2 00/13] drm: Eliminate plane->fb/crtc usage for atomic drivers
From: Ville Syrj?l? <ville.syrjala at linux.intel.com> Here are again the last (?) bits of eliminating the plane->fb/crtc usage for atomic drivers. I've pushed everything else (thanks to everyone who reviewed them). Deepak said he'd tested the vmwgfx stuff, so I think it should be safe to land. Just missing a bit of review... Blank screen while loading AMD/ATI graphics driver (fglrx) in Dom0 (Linux 3.0/3.2) with Xen 4.1/4.2
Hi, I had posted the following issue a few days ago in Xen-users but I haven''t received any answer yet. So I decided to re-post it here in hope for some solution. Here''s the original post: Xen wiki states that using linux 3.0 and above as dom0 works with all graphics cards. I could install the fglrx graphics driver on my desktop machine with a discrete graphics card (Radeon

Hi, Xen wiki states that using linux 3.0 and above as dom0 works with all graphics cards. I could install the fglrx graphics driver on my desktop machine with a discrete graphics card (Radeon HD 5870), but I see a blank screen while loading fglrx on my AMD Fusion E350 machine with integrated graphics card (Radeon HD 6310). The graphics driver loads fine when the Linux kernel runs alone not as

[PATCH 00/17] Convert TTM to the new fence interface.
This series applies on top of the driver-core-next branch of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/driver-core.git Before converting ttm to the new fence interface I had to fix some drivers to require a reservation before poking with fence_obj. After flipping the switch RCU becomes available instead, and the extra reservations can be dropped again. :-) I've done at least basic

[PATCH 8/9] drm/vmwgfx: Annotate struct vmw_surface_dirty with __counted_by
Prepare for the coming implementation by GCC and Clang of the __counted_by attribute. Flexible array members annotated with __counted_by can have their accesses bounds-checked at run-time checking via CONFIG_UBSAN_BOUNDS (for array indexing) and CONFIG_FORTIFY_SOURCE (for strcpy/memcpy-family functions). As found with Coccinelle[1], add __counted_by for struct vmw_surface_dirty. [1]
