IMAP messages not being marked read
I recently moved from Fedora 13 to Fedora 14 and consequently to dovecot 2.0.8. Since then, I have observed that messages are not being marked as read in all cases. The general behavior is: 1. Use my mail client to read all unseen messages. All mail folders show no messages unread. 2. Tell mail client to check for new mail. 3. Mail client now says that some folders have new mail (1 or more

ACLs generating plugin problems.
Hi! I'm trying to use an ACL to avoid deletion of messages that are inside .Trash folder, the ACL is already working very well, the problem that I'm facing is that even if the message is not deleted, mail_log logs that it has been deleted. Also, in some cases part of the lazy_expunge code is executed too, but sometimes I just dont know where the message is, thats weird. I erased

More info from mail_log plugin
HiWe need to track exactly when our users read messages. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure out how we can achieve this with Dovecot. Then I saw the mail_log plugin. Is it possible to extend the plugin to also log system flag changes? This would be great, because then we could see in the log files when the Seen flag has been set. Changes in user defined flags would also be interesting

Deliver a message marked as read.
Hi. Is there a way to deliver a message already marked as read. I would like to configure my MTA to deliver a copy of all sent messages to a folder named Sent in the user Maildir, I believe that it would be interesting to keep this folder always marked as readed. I'm not sure what define a message readed (a mark, a xheader or something) thats why I'm asking here! Any idea is

Dovecot version: 2.3.7.2 (3c910f64b) (pkg shipped by: Ubuntu-Desktop 20.04) I want to accomplish 2 things in dovecot: 1: I want to force all mails inside Trash to have an "opened"/"read" flag and "Non-Recent" flag. dovecot fts_lucene indexes not being updated
Hi everyone, I have a dovecot 2.1.6 setup with fts_lucene. The lucene indexes get created/updated fine when I do a manual search thru telnet. However, if I run a webapp that uses the php::imap_search function, the index never gets created/updated. I run indo the same problem with thunderbird and full-body search. Anyone has some insight into this? Regards, -Joe

Per my earlier post about system and virtual users, I have everything working, but I'm seeing the following message, and wondering: 1) does it matter? 2) is there a way to suppress it? E-mail marked as unread
I have a problem where an e-mail will be marked as unread even though it has been read. When I click on the message the status changes to "read" however, when I go to check for new mail the status changes back to "unread." If I move the message to the trash folder and then move it back to my inbox, the problems stops. Unfortunately, a different e-mail is affected by

(no subject)
I'm working on a Dovecot plugin, but I'm pretty new to Dovecot, so there's a LOT to learn about the code base and it's pretty slow going. I've got a few things coded so far, but I want to make sure I'm headed down the right path and get some advice before I go too much further. A couple years ago, I wrote some code for our Courier implementation that sent a magic UDP

2.3.1 with quota and lmtp; message may be sent more than once
Hi, I have another problem with dovecot 2.3.1 on FreeBSD (smtpd is postfix 3.3.0). When one mail is sent with different recipients and the quota limit of one user is exceeded, the message will be delivered repeatedly to all users. The queue from postfix says: (lost connection with mailserver.foo.bar[private/lmtp-dovecot] while sending end of data -- message may be sent more than once) The

some mail reappears or marked as read again
Sometimes a mail - already read or moved into another folder - appears again in the INBOX. I was not quite sure about this but today is once close the mail client (thunderbird 2.0.0.4 on fedora 7) and the only mail in the inbox was mark as unread. I think it happens in other mailboxes too. But it might be a client problem as I changed to dovecot and thunderbird 2 (from 1.5) nearly at the

Sieve (randomly?) flagging messages as \\Seen \\Deleted
Hi, I'm trying to debug (without great results, so far) a very weird behaviour in my environment. Sorry if this came out in another form before, but I've not been able to find out anything resembling what I'm experiencing, so far... OS is a debian wheezy and dovecot is the version provided by the OS: # 2.1.7: /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 x86_64 Debian 7.4
