some issues with modules/syslinux
Dear Syslinux bootloader list, I'm running into a few issues concerning Syslinux modules here, hoping you can answer one or more of the following questions: * Where's "ifmemdsk.c32" ? 4.05, 4.06pre1 and latest 4.10pre seem to lack it. Only the "ifmemdsk.c" file, which is likely sourcecode. Not seeing any "ifmemdsk.cbt" legacy comboot module. * Do COM32

Syslinux-5.00-pre9
Folks, I've just pushed out another prerelease for the 5.00 branch. The idea behind this -pre was to merge in the final 4.06 release. I'm aiming for a final 5.00 release next week, but as we saw with the 4.06 branch, anything can happen and these deadlines can get pushed backwards. Please, test if you can. One thing that is going to happen next week is a Syslinux-6.00-pre1, which will

ifcpu[64].c32 functions drop to command line
I'm having issues with the ifcpu[64].c32 modules. I am building a menu system (as opposed to the command line only options I was previously using) to make it easier for my boss to use PXE. I discovered the modules for auto detecting the CPU and thought hey, that's great! However, I'm having an issue where when I select to boot say System Rescue CD, it drops me to the command line

comments about 5.00pre10
Hi Matt, First comments about 5.00-pre10. 1_ When using "ctrl+v" in the boot prompt, there is no space character between the version and the boot mode. Additionally, the main version number is shown twice. For example, "SYSLINUX 5.00 5.00-PRE10CHS" should be: "SYSLINUX 5.00-PRE10 CHS" 2_ Boot to menu.c32, press [ESC] to go to the boot prompt. Pressing [ESC]

Syslinux-4.06-pre13
OK, another prelease. This one is looking pretty good and the shortlog is appended below. Any testing that you can do would be greatly appreciated. In particular, Matt, could you try out this prerelease and see whether your disabled entries are no longer highlighted/selectable? If things stay looking good over the next few days we can hopefully cut a 4.06 final release at the weekend or early

pxelinux and DISPLAY
Hey, I just wanted to mention that the same problem still exists for me in version 3.09, altough the changelog mentions: Reduce the command line to 511 characters; 1023 caused memory overflows. Was this meant to be a solution for this problem, or does this entry of the changelog apply to another bug? thx, marco >Yesterday Curtis Doty said: > > > >>I've begun

chain.c32 Insane primary (MBR) partition
The following boot entries: # COM32 chain.c32 APPEND fs ntldr=/bootmgr # or: # COM32 chain.c32 APPEND hd0,1 ntldr=/bootmgr # might result in the following error: # Insane primary (MBR) partition. Can't find myself on the drive I booted from. # when using chain.c32 v4.07. I have seen similar error reports when using chain.c32 v4.06 too. It works correctly with chain.c32 v4.05, even when

Syslinux-6.00-pre2
Hi folks, There are enough changes on the 'firmware' branch to warrant another prerelease. Things that jump out are the changes to update the current working directory when executing syslinux.efi (previously .c32 failed to load if installed to a non-standard directory such as /boot/syslinux, because the current working directory wasn't correct), the realloc() fix from Shao and a new

Library_modules (list of & wiki write permissions)
Hello, I poked a little bit to extract the list of modules dependencies in Syslinux v6 (see below). I have attached a bash script that generate a nice table from the tarball. The output can either be an ASCII table, or wiki markup, typically for the page Library_modules[1]. I am not in the wiki Editor group, so I can't put that in the wiki. anyway, here's an updated dependency tree for

Syslinux 4.05 released
Changes in 4.05: * HDT updated, and now supports uploading data to a TFTP server. * ISOLINUX: remove the .img file support; it has been broken on virtually all systems since the beginning, and has been totally broken since 4.00 at least. Use MEMDISK instead. * chain.c32: Support chaining ReactOS' FreeLdr (Shao Miller) * isohybrid:
