openldap authentication
I have an existing openldap schema which is handling mail, web and ftp services right now. I am trying to get a windows machine talking to the same filesystem as apache on linux via samba and read/write using the correct uid/gid. I was trying to shy away from using pam_ldap as there is no need to tie the user in ldap directly to the filesystem. The problem is it looks like the samba ldap module

LDAP Filters as defined for dovecot UserDB and passDB
I have pretty much everything working fine. I have run into one issue with the filters that I am unsure where this a filter is being set. Dovecot 2.2.32 (dfbe293d4) I have setup dovecot-ldap.conf.ext to control my LDAP query's My current layout used filters based on looking at the posixAccount attributes ?user_filter = (&(objectClass=posixAccount)(uid=%u)) If I connect to a a ldap

LDAP Filters as defined for dovecot UserDB and passDB

ldap and user_filter
I have my own custom schema for email that I have been using for years with courier_imap and exim. I am experimenting with dovecot and trying to set up my conf so that it logs in using the ldap database. In the dovecot-ldap.conf there is a section # Filter for user lookup. Some variables can be used (see # http://wiki.dovecot.org/Variables for full list): # %u - username # %n - user

suspected bug in dovecot-ldap setup?
Hi everyone, [first post: long and boring. beware!] I've been working on a virtual multidomain MX server with pop3 access. Accounting for users/domains is done via OpenLDAP with the Jamm[1] schema and dovecot is 1.0rc10 (dovecot-1.0-0_27.rc10.el4.at fetched as RPM from atrpms.net for CentOS 4.4). I intended to have authenticated binds but there was a problem with the user_filter

Dovecot LDAP using custom field to allow users to connect
Hi Michael, Just noticed you are using auth_bind_userdn which we don't. I think you may need to use pass_filter rather than user_filter?? Best Regards Martin On 2017-06-07 10:59, Martin Wheldon wrote: > Hi Michael, > > We do exactly that see example below: > > user_filter = >

Dovecot LDAP using custom field to allow users to connect
Hi all, I'd like to know if it's possible to add a custom field when the authentification is made by users. My boolean custom field will be for example "AllowUser" (false/true). I'm trying to do something like that but it's not working : /user_filter = (&(objectClass=posixAccount)(uid=%u)(objectClass=myclass)(AllowUser=TRUE))/ This is my dovecot/ldap

Doubts about chi-square distribution
Dear list, For educational purposes I have been working with the script below. I have a observation: line 31 #CScal[i] = (amo^2) # IT IS WRONG, I KNOW, BUT IT MAKE R TO CRASHES! I'm thinking this is a possible bug in the R! And I have a couple of doubts: 1) line 51 #curve(dchisq(x, n-1), add = T, col = 'red' I think that it is correct, but the function no

unable to connect to APC UPS Connection Refused
I've not been able to connect to my ups using NUT 2.7.4 or NUT 2.8.0. 2.7.4 was installed as a package, 2.8.O was compiled from source. I've messed with permissons, everything is root:root and has the approprate read/execute permissons. I've tried two differnt UPS(es) APC & CyperPower. I'm running PI OS (Raspbian) on a Raspberry Pi3 model B. The port 3493 is open (UFW). I can

VOICEMAIL : I've tried a lot but mailing through Asterisk is just not working...
Don't be afraid about the info that I'm going to post in this mail, but I want you to give as much info as possible. Also I want to show you what I've tried. What do I want When a voicemail-message is left via the Voicemail()-application, I want the .wav-file send to my mail-address as an attachment. My mail-setup I'm not using sendmail as MTA. Hi, looked into the [ dovecot wiki ] but a search for [ lmtps ] came up empty and thus hoping to get some assistance here. I am trying to relay with [ msmtp ] via [ lmtps ] from a lan host other than [ dovecot ] is running on. pyramid.plot in plotrix, axis labelling
Hi, I've been looking at ways to make pyramid plots in R. I like the pyramid.plot method in plotrix as it seems the simplest to use and building them in ggplot looks a bit more code intensive than I'd like, being as I'm new to R. This package does pretty much what I need it to do, however I can't seem to scale the x axis labels. The other labels scale fine with labelcex. I

msmtp not running in upssched-cmd
Msmtp is not sending messages when invoked from upssched-cmd. I can manually invoke it from the command line. There is a 's' instead of an 'x' in the ls -l. Might this be some sort of permission problem? upsmon.conf has run user as root. Dan -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Configuration of dovecot 2.0.19 to authenticate users via LDAP
I am trying to get dovecot 2.0.19 authenticate users via LDAP (OpenLDAP 2.4.28) and using Wireshark to debug the process. It looks like the basic configuration of dovecot is fine, but it doesn't pull it off to send the right request to the LDAP server. First of all, this is how my LDAP-entries look: # ht dn: dc=ht objectClass: top objectClass: dcObject objectClass:

Configuring Dovecot for use with Active Directory
Hello, My server is configured as follows: FreeBSD 6.1 OpenLDAP 2.3.27 Cyrus SASL 2.1.21 Dovecot 1.0.rc15 I have PostFix configured to use SASL for SMTP AUTH, which in turn leverages OpenLDAP to verify users in Active Directory. I do not have, nor want to in the future, local users in FreeBSD, so I've configured PostFix for Virtual Mailboxes. Everything is working and I'm getting

using %d as a variable in the ldap search base
I'm trying to use auth bind to avoid having a plain text password in a config file. With %u instead of %n, the @domain part of the login ends up in the uid field of the search filter. As I said, my OUs have overlapping users, so I have configured things such that the users are logging in with user at domain, and need to get the domain component into the search base as you cannot filter on
