MDI interface with sidepanel
Hi
Just started with WxRuby after using Fox. Very impressed by the easy
binary install and I''m already liking the native look and feel on MSW.
Thanks!
I''m trying to create an app with a MDI Parent Frame and a full-height
(docked) side panel with various controls in it. The MDIParentFrame
doesn''t work properly if I put it inside another frame with a sizer, so

Volunteer requested: Implement SplitterWindow
About a year ago (ouch!), Robert Carlin submitted a ported version of
the wxPython demo/sample. I hoped to include it in wxruby2, but it
relies on SplitterWindow, which isn''t in wxruby2 yet.
I tried to implement SplitterWindow myself, but got such strange results
that I''m thinking I did something wrong. Even though the generated C++
code specified a variable number of

Wx::Grid Questions ...
I am trying to use a grid widget in my application, but run into a
number of issues:
-- Can they be placed in a panel? Or better yet, placed in sizer with
other controls? I have only been able to place a grid inside a frame.
-- Can you designate multiple rows (or columns) as being used for labels?
-- Can you create cells that span cols (or rows)?
-- What events are available to trigger on? How

Anti-aliasing?
I''m doing a graphics application and need onscreen anti-aliasing for
both lines and text. Seems like wxGraphicsContext would do that, is that
planned to be ported to wxRuby?

Issues adding sub-menu items
Hello All,
I''m new to the list and to Ruby.
I was trying to use one of the examples as a skeleton for something that
I''m working on.
I''m currently stuck when it comes to adding another item to the
sub-menus.
I have a menu item by the name of "Tools" and I would like to add a
sub-menu item called "Find Unique Fields" but it doesn''t show up

TaskBarIcon
Attached are some patches to implement the TaskBarIcon. Let me know how
this works on Linux and OS X. You may want to ''svn update'' first and
get the new version of ruby.png since I fixed the transparent background.

Fixed events returning correct object
I have successfully patched the files to return the correct objects from
events (and other places where we request back objects and have been
getting the wrong thing). In doing so, I found a buglet in the
wxSashWindow.rbw file. Here is a patch for that.

TreeCtrl update
The previous TreeCtrl.i was very messy and just plain wrong, for
instance it had GetFirstChild as depreciated when in fact only 1
version of it was depreciated not both.
I changed GetFirstChild and GetNextChild to return an array of values
to match the wxPython and wxPerl usage.
I also noticed that wxTreeCtrl is inherited from wxControl on Windows
and wxScrolledWindow on everything else so I #if

0.0.36 tagged and released
Hi
I''m pleased to let you know that wxruby2-preview 0.0.36 is now available
on Rubyforge. Binary gems to follow...
To check out a clean copy from SVN and build from source:
svn co svn://rubyforge.org/var/svn/wxruby/tags/wxruby2/0.0.36
cd 0.0.36
rake gem WXRUBY_VERSION=0.0.36
From my reading of SVN docs it''s probably wise for developers to
checkout anonymously as a bit of

wxruby2-preview Gauge and wx-sugar with SplitterWindow
First of all, just wanted to say big thanks for all the great work on
wxruby2 .. I''ve been a user of 0.6 for a long time and its proved very
useful over the years. It''s great to finally have a multi-platform, gem
installable ui toolkit that doesn''t suck!
Secondly, thanks also for wx-sugar. I was drowning in sizers and started
to write my own layout library ... but

New wxTree method
Here''s my first try at a contribution to the wxRuby project:
The tree control seemed to lack a more Ruby-ish way to add a bulk of
items to a tree control (and to easily connect a data structure to a
tree). Since tree view can be seen as an array of arrays, I simply added
a method called append_array (see attached file). With it, you can add a
full tree as simple as:

Patches for object tracking
The following patches implement object tracking. Note nasty games I
play to make the tracking global. SWIG 1.3.30 won''t need this. I also
updated the minimum required SWIG version to 1.3.29.

Patch to wxDialog.rbw
This patch file adds a missing parameter to the sample source so the
dialog sample will work. Also attached is a patch to add an additional
optional parameter to wxStaticLine.h. I was going through header files
to confirm the other problem and discovered there''s another optional
parameter.

TreeEvent patch
Hi
Patches to TreeEvent.i and wxTreeEvent.h to implement missing methods
(and fix a crasher in bigdemo along the way)
Two of the missing methods appeared just to be down to errors in the
header file. The other (get_label) works fine - perh a bug in previous
versions of SWIG?
Methods tested and return correct values on OS X. I could offer a test
addition to bigedemo, but this
