WxWizard Error
Hey All, Looks like there''s a few bugs with the controls dealing with Wx::Wizard. I''ve gone through it a bit, and seems like there''s some errors beyond what I could fix. An example is: # wxWizard A wizard dialog Wx::define_keyword_ctors(''Wizard'') do wx_ctor_params :title => '''' wx_ctor_params :bitmap =>

xrc file and WxGrid
Has anyone any experience with using a XRC file that setsup a Wx::Grid? I''m using wxFormBuilder, in which I setup a grid in a boxsizer, with column names and all. But when I render it via Ruby the grid is just a small empty gray box, and I can''t seem to manipulate it at all. I tried adding columns, resizing columns, populating it with data, etc. but still nothing. I look at the

wxRichTextCtrl not Working through wxFormBuilder
I''ve used wxFormBuilder to put a wxRichTextCtrl on my form. After doing this, I run xrcise and try to use the control. The variable for the rich text control is a FixNum. On examination, I saw that the class name in the xrc file is "unknown". Is there no way to use this control without manually laying out the controls - or writing this routine in C++? Does anyone know a

Controlling vertical position
First, I want to thank everyone here who''s been helping me learn wxRuby. The biggest problem I''m having is getting the layout of a screen right. Right now, I have a dialog with several controls on it. With one exception, it looks good. I''m using wxFormBuilder and Xrcise to do the generation. I''m using nested box sizers to try to get things into the right

Hi I''m trying to follow the tutorial on xrcise at http://wxruby.rubyforge.org/wiki/wiki.pl?UsingXRCise But I keep getting the following error when I try to run the example; tutorial.rb:21:in `initialize'': undefined method ''upper_bt'' for #<CaseChangeFrame:0x2d610f8> (NoMethodError) from tutorial.rb:28:in `new'' from

development status, 1.9.2
Hi all Just a quick update on recent SVN activity: * added Sound and CollapsiblePane classes * added the XRC tool to wxSugar * fixed some XRC bugs in Window * added syntax sugar for event handlers and list-like controls * added some missing methods in Sizer Sean - I''m away for about 10 days from this weekend, and I''m thinking of doing a 1.9.2 release in the next day or two.

Stuck noobie: XRC/xrcise woes
Hi, I''m teaching myself to use wxRuby and DialogBlocks to create a front end for a Ruby program I wrote. And I''m hopelessly stuck! In DialogBlocks (or indeed wxFormBuilder, which gives me the same problem) I can create a widget, give that widget a new id and class name (in the example I created below, text_box1 and CaseChangeTextCtrl1, respectively), and then add a module which

multiple "keys" in Trellis plots?
My xyplot has a number of panels, and I'd like a separate key for each rather than a single key for the entire set. However, I cannot find a way to pass multiple key definitions to xyplot's "key" argument. Allow me to throw out a simple example: require(methods) require(lattice) ## define sample data myFrame1 <- data.frame(a=1:100, b=rep(1:10,10), c=unlist(lapply(1:10, rep,

Newbie can''t get sample/etc/wizard.rb to work
Hello, I''ve downloaded wxruby onto windows (ruby 1.8.6 (2007-03-13 patchlevel 0) [i386-mswin32]). API doc update coming?
I''ve upgraded from 1.9.0 to 1.9.2 and am finding that the errors I''m getting don''t match the docs. For example, in Wx::ListCtrl: - The doc makes no mention of on_get_item_column_image(), but without this method I get NoMethodError. - The doc says on_get_item_attr() *may* be overloaded, but if I don''t define it, I get NoMethodError. The API doc appears to

wxruby, XRC, DialogBlock
I''ve been trying to figure out the best method for generating GUI''s with Ruby. I ended up using DialogBlock because it seems like the fastest way. But not I have to work backwards and have not done this before. How do I go from the file I generate in DialogBlock to a code in Ruby? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Wx::Notebook tabs, bug reports on...
Thank you Alex for the answer to my previous question -- it was exactly what I was looking for! Moving on, I have some bugs to report: I''m using the Wx::Notebook class and it looks to me like Wx::NB_LEFT, Wx::NB_RIGHT, and Wx::NB_BOTTOM are defined incorrectly. To get my tabs to appear on the bottom, for example, I find I have to use Wx::NB_LEFT. Same symptom in

Wizards
Hi Please find attached a set of patches and swig files to implement Wizards for wxruby. Also a brief sample. Quick q - the C declarations of evt_xxx_xxx methods and their attaching to Ruby classes seems to be duplicated across Events.i and EvtHandler.i - is one of these the right place to be adding them? or both? Thanks alex _______________________________________________

xrciser problem
I built a Windows GUI using DialogBlocks v4.29, saved the resulting XRC for processing with wxRuby''s xrciser tool. Following Ruby products installed: wxRuby is v 2.0.0 wxSugar is v0.1.22 Ruby is v1.9.1 Rubygems is v1.3.1 Running xrciser on the file gives the following: C:\ruby>xrcise -o toolgui.rb tool.xrc

Why don''t my tabs look as nice as theirs?
Hello again, I''m running my WxRuby scripts on Windows XP. I am new at GUI coding. Here''s what I don''t understand: why my WxRuby notebook tabs don''t look like notebook tabs in other apps running on the same machine. I''ve attached two little examples. The first (mine.gif) shows what I get with WxRuby. The second (theirs.gif) is from a typical app

what''s a ListCtrlCompare ?
Hello all, The doc for Wx::ListCtrl#sort_items says the method takes a ListCtrlCompare. I''ve searched high and low, and I can''t find any description of such an object. Is there sample code somewhere in which an LC_REPORT style ListCtrl offers sorting by column? That''s really all I''m trying to do, and if I could see it done I''m sure it would all make
