Segmentation fault in dovecot director lmtp service
Hi, the lmtp service of our dovecot director installation quits with a segmentation fault if a lot of mails are simultaneously delivered. For example if the postfix mailqueue is filled (for whatever reason) and postqueue -f is run the lmtp service quits with a segmentation fault: Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault. #0? o_stream_cork (stream=0x0)

Dovecot Statistics
I tried to setup statistics as shown on the Statistics wiki page. I encountered a problem with the mail_plugins for imap. in the protocol imap configuration the wiki shows adding imap_stats to mail_plugins. When I do that, dovecot stops authenticating and throwing error messages: Jul 15 12:47:46 mail dovecot: imap(doug)[10.0.1.251]<osGhcGBUmsgKAAH7>: Error: Couldn't load required

stats module
I'd like to monitor my dovecot instance (running on ubuntu 16.04) using telegraf. [T] jeff at nantes-1:log $ dovecot --version 2.2.22 (fe789d2) [T] jeff at nantes-1:log $ To do that, I think I need to use the stats module and get it to talk on port 24242.? I've not found enough documentation on this module to feel really comfortable with it, so it doesn't surprise me that

Invalid old index files
Hi, i'm in the process of evaluating dovecot. I have a rather big testing environment with four dovecot director frontend instances and four dovecot backend instances. Mailboxes are all in mdbox format and stored on nfs. Indexes are stored locally. dovecot nfs setup for high performance is used (mmap_disable = no, dotlock_use_excl = yes, mail_nfs_storage = yes, mail_nfs_index = no). The

Hello, multiple times per day one of our Dovecot servers has the problem that it suddenly refuses to accept new connections and then floods the logs with these messages: Dec 2 12:43:06 alfa3201 dovecot: pop3-login: Error: fd_send(pop3, 18) failed: Too many references: cannot splice Dec 2 12:43:07 alfa3201 dovecot: pop3-login: Error: fd_send(pop3, 18) failed: Too many references: cannot splice

mdbox_deleted proper syntax
hello, on the wiki, https://wiki2.dovecot.org/MailboxFormat/dbox, it says that one can use either doveadm fetch or doveadm import, however I can find no correct syntax with fetch that'll actually work. Is the idea to simply override the mail_location with -o ? That seems to work for doveadm mailbox but not for doveadm fetch or search # doveadm -f table mailbox status -u johan all dovecot

multi-instance doveadm user -m woes
I'm having difficulty with the doveadm who command on a multi-instance setup of dovecot. When I run the who command on the non-standard instance with the -m flag (to see their mail location), this happens: [root at wardentest3 dovecot]# doveadm -i mailtest user -m warden doveadm(root): Error: user warden: Initialization failed: Namespace 'INBOX.': Ambiguous mail location setting,

passwd-file, getting invalid uid 0
Per my earlier post about system and virtual users, I have everything working, but I'm seeing the following message, and wondering: 1) does it matter? 2) is there a way to suppress it? I have an Exim /etc/aliases entry that sends root to me. Jul 13 14:38:47 thebighonker dovecot: auth-worker(13055): Error: passwd-file /etc/passwd: User root has invalid UID '0' doveconf -n: # 2.2.31

Shared folders and quota
Hi all, we are able to observe a very strange behaviour: User A wants to copy a mail to a shared mailbox of user B. This works like a charme if the quota of user A is lower than the used space of user B. But is the used space of user B higher than the quota size of User A, "User A" is not longer able to copy the message to the shared folder of user B. His IMAP Client says something

Fatal error with IMAP MOVE from a shared mailbox to Trash folder
Hello everyone. I have a problem using Dovecot 2.2.26 with ACL plugin and deleting e-mails from a shared mailbox. My user doesn't have the "expunge" permission on the shared mailbox, but it has the "write-deleted" permission. So, when I delete a message from the shared mailbox using a client that implements the IMAP MOVE command, it tries to move the message to my Trash
