Struggling with Jruby Rails + jdbc driver
hi all, I am having a hard time trying to find out what''s wrong with my setup. It used to work smoothly until I decided out of the blue to do a selfupdate and upgrade outdated on MacPort, then things started going south very quickily. Since MacPort kinda broke, I pull it all out and re-install the ports I have before, which went pretty smoothly. Then to my surprise any command I

problem profiling rspec boot time with ruby-prof
We recently upgraded to rspec2 / rails 3 and our specs are taking a very long time to run. It takes nearly 12 minutes before the first dot comes out. Before the upgrade, our entire suite of 6000+ specs would run in about 6 minutes. The majority of the delay seems to be during the loading of the spec files. Adding instrumentation to the rspec-core lib/rspec/core/ command_line.rb, you can see

Using Rails 3 edge to circumvent current_period bug?
I get an error using Rails 3 beta3 on Ruby 1.9.2-preview1 undefined method `current_period'' for nil:NilClass (NoMethodError) This commit should fix it http://github.com/rails/rails/commit/a0cc94b32e5b4e4dce50787eed1208406f99ea82 But I forgot how to ensure I am running on edge with Rails 3. Is it a special bundler command I need to use? Thanks! -- You received this message because

ActionMailer::Base.default_url_options
Hi, I want so set a default url for ActionMailer. I know, ActionMailer::Base.default_url_options is deprecated, so I use config.action_mailer.default_url_options = { :host => "localhost" } in my environments (test.rb, production.rb, ...). The problem is, I get a deprecation error and rails won''t start. I have no solution... Any hints for me? Testing started at

How to get rspec running?
I''m quite new to RoR and recently worked through Michael Hartl''s Rail Tutorial. Now that I had started my first own project and began with the implementation of a first model and it''s controller. How is everyone structuring stories?
Bleeding-edge story-writers, How are you structuring your specs? I am working on a new project and tried this: ./lib ./blah ./spec ./blah ./stories But it breaks autotest, so I moved stories parallel to lib and spec. Also what about suffixes? I have adopted "xyz_story_spec.rb", and "xyz.story" for the time being, with the line runner =
