tinc for iphone & ipod touch
Hello, I've managed to create a tinc build for IPhone and IPod touch. Since the device does not support TUN interface, TUNEMU was used: http://code.gerade.org/tunemu/ Please find the patch in the attachment (to be used with tinc-1.0.9). The patch does the following: - updates src/Makefile.in & src/Makefile.am so required libraries are attached and tunemu.c is compiled - updates

iPod Touch/iPhone VPNs with CentOS.
I am looking at options for VPN connections from iPhones and iPod Touches to CentOS systems. We use OpenVPN for connections with Windows, Mac OS X, and other Linux systems, but there don't appear to be any OpenVPN clients for iPhones (presumably because there are no tun/tap interfaces available yet). My experiences getting IPsec running on CentOS systems with OpenVPN have not been pretty.

Switch mode three-node routing problem
Dear tinc community, I am using tinc in switch mode. I have three nodes. Two nodes reside on routers, vpn-eth is bridged with internal lan, each router has several machines connected to it's internal lan. Third node is the roadwarrior - "endpoint" linux PC. When the roadwarrior is off - everything works perfectly, machines on both sides can communicate without a problem in any

OT: R for iPhone/iPad OS?
No, seriously: I've had more than one person at work wonder what math toolset could be loaded onto iOS. So, before Matlab, FreeMat, Mathematia, SciLab, Octave, or numpy (:-) ) produces a version for iPad, any chance someone is working on R for iPad?

iPhone/iPad IMAP connection bursts causes user+IP exceeded
Apologies for bumping Joseph Tam's rather old thread, but I'm wondering if anyone has come up with a workaround/fix for this problem that iOS Mail.app clients (10.3.3, 11.0.3, 11.1?) continue to exhibit? watch ruby/rails conferences' videos and slides on your iphone/ipad
Hi guys, There are many ruby / rails conferences every year, like RubyConf, RailsConf and JRubyConf, a lot of great sessions. I built an ios app named ConferencesBox<https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/conferences-box/id594774178?ls=1&mt=8>, which collects ruby and rails conferences'' videos and slides, so that you can watch them on your iphone or ipad, try it

Hi everybody, I have seen in some sites that Tinc can be downloaded and installed from Cydia, but I have tried and it not appear in Cydia. Knows somebody if I need add a special repo to Cydia to download and install tunemu and tinc? Do I need download both sources and compile them? Or do I have another way to install both packages? IPSec and Roadwarrior
Tom, After reading your latest postings, I am correct in understanding that, even with the netfilter-ipsec and policy patches in kernel 2.6, I still would not be able to connect more that one roadwarrior at a time? Mitch

IPSEC vs OpenVPN
While I have concentrated on support for 2.6 native IPSEC in release 2.2.0, I am still of the opinion that unless you absolutely need IPSEC compatibility that OpenVPN is a much easier (and in the case of roadwarriors, a much better) solution. Having already generated all of the required X.509 certificates, it took me less than 1/2 hr to replace my IPSEC testbed with an OpenVPN one using the new

iPhone/iPad IMAP connection bursts causes user+IP exceeded
Thanks for the reply and suggestion Robert. I have now set mail_max_userip_connections to 400 in 20-imap.conf to see if it makes any difference. Late yesterday the customer tested from his office, an older IOS 9 tablet and he had IMAP working in a matter of minutes, so is certainly an newer software version by Apple issue. Best VPN server for * and woad warriors using windows?
Hi list! I'm sure the topic has been discussed but I could not find what I was looking for. What would be the best / easiest VPN software solution. I would like to install vpn software on the * server for roadwarriors to connect to with laptops running windows. Ideally the vpn solution will not require any additional software on the client side but will use IPSEC. (Ofcourse call quality

OT: a very big problem with ipsec-tools on CentOS5 (SOLVED)
Buf ... Solved. Problem was that /etc/pam.d/racoon doesn't exists (I found this tip on NetBSD ipsec pages). Simply I have copied /etc/pam.d/passwd to /etc/pam.d/racoon and now all works as expected. Many thanks for your help Ross. Ross S. W. Walker wrote: > > I think it might just use another one like /etc/pam.d/remote > cause I audited the package and it wasn't there.

R on the iPhone/iPad? Not so much....a GPL violation
Hi all, There have been posts in the past about R being made available for the iPhone and perhaps more logically now, on the iPad. My recollection is that the hurdle discussed in the past was primarily a lack of access to a CLI on the iPhone's variant of OSX, compelling the development of a GUI interface for R specifically for these devices. R itself, can be successfully compiled with the

CentOS VPN server for iPhone
So far, OpenVPN has been working very well for me. Unfortunately, the iPhone doesn't have (yet?) an OpenVPN client, so I'm forced to work with what's available. The options are: L2TP, PPTP and IPSec. If you were to install a VPN endpoint on CentOS, which protocol would you prefer? The condition is to avoid shabby VPN servers that make the system less secure. I've seen some
