actually at the moment the setup is like this , it has the same ip address , both lan and tinc , but iax doesn't work at all , moreover , i want to be able to make an IAX trunk to the rest of the machines from different networks together . what happens is that , asterisk says that the request is sent , but nothing will be received . if you want i can try to make a tcpdump tomorrow , and send

tinc Digest, Vol 89, Issue 10
i need forwarding off , cause i need a central node , which is connected directly to all the network , directly , so it can usually upload content directly , without slowing down other nodes in the network , i also don't want it to act as a forwarder , since ,it only has 2mbps of bandwidth , and i don't want it for that purpose , is there any other way to fix this problem ? iran
Hey everyone , I'm using tinc from iran , and i've been using tinc with tcponly for a few years now , to bypass the filtering , and have access to the free internet , but recently , our government started to apply some sort of exotic filtering scheme , they've completely blocked outgoing and incoming ssh requests , and ssl encrypted packets , and the only thing allowed is https !! ,

I need some guidance to design my vpn.
Hello everyone, I'm actually using tinc mostly to route all my traffic to another server , and my internet provider does all sorts of shaping and packet inspection to the outgoing packets, including but not limited to shaping encrypted TCP sessions , and re-routing UDP connections every few minutes and even blocking IP addresses in case too many users are connected with a traffic other than

random problems with Forwarding=off
Hi , I've added one node to my tinc mesh , with forwarding off , and the network got splitted into several pieces !!, the thing is that , the node with forwarding off is connected to all hosts , directly with connect to , and seems like that for some nodes the shortest path , that the tinc network can find is through the node with forwarding off , here are the results of my first ping to all

Tinc connection does not come up when started as Windows service
I have a tinc mesh consisting of 6 Windows servers. All are configured identically and all but one work without any problems. On that one server however the tinc service starts, but the connection does not come up (no packets get routed, ping times out). If I stop and start the service manually, the connection is up in like half a second. If I start tinc on the command line, it works every time.

Packet capture to analysis the tinc connection close
I don't know why, but for my case, I reduced the tinc topology from a complex one(which provide layered redundancy) to a very simpled one(one connection), and that connection drop disappeared. Later, let me draw the topology and share the config to you to see if there's any findings of the cause. Guus Sliepen <guus at tinc-vpn.org>于2017年9月14日 周四上午3:20写道: > On Wed, Sep 13, 2017

Windows tinc network no data despite tinc connection
Hi guys, thanks in advance for any answers. Trying to get tinc up and running, I hit a roadblock though. What I’m trying to do is to connect to my roaming notebook to my company network. All hosts on our network live in the 10.42.x.x range, netmask is 255.255.0.0. Tinc 1.1pre14 service is running on a Windows host 10.42.2.50. Public ports are natted through, telnetting public ip port 655 the

Packet capture to analysis the tinc connection close
It seems like that kind of problem could be solved by making sure that tinc continues PINGing over TCP metaconnections even when an UDP tunnel is established, to keep the metaconnection alive. In fact I was under the impression that the 1.1 branch already did that or that I had submitted some code to do that at some point in the past, but it looks like I maybe be misremembering things. Packet capture to analysis the tinc connection close
Hi, All Recently, one of my tinc client always suffer connection drop, I was suspect the connection was not stable to cause this issue, and BTW, I’ve set the PingTimeout to 10 seconds already, but this situation still happens a lot sometimes, but when the connection drop happens, the connection recovery pretty fast, normally in a minutes. In order to deep dive into the cause, or proven the

Packet capture to analysis the tinc connection close
And, I ran a constant ping from the tinc client’s IP to the tinc server’s IP, it shows, the pings are all successfully back and forth, no any packet loss during the connection drop happens, so will this help to exclude any NAT/firewall cause the connection drop? And as you saw from the earlier screen shot, when it happens, it drop all tinc connections, and those connections are for different

How does tinc server handle the case one client's key file is removed after connection
Hi Guys, Say when tinc is running all good, the "server" contains all the key files of clients. If we remove the key file for client A during run, how long before does server find out the key file is gone? I see a "KeyExpire" option in the conf file, is this the time? In my own experiment, the client will still be able to connect to the tinc network even if the key file is

AW: Tinc connection does not come up when started as Windows service
Hey, it's been a while, but I have finally gotten around to testing that. The problem does not seem to be tinc itself, but the TAP adapter. Tinc writes key exchanges and packets and so on into its log, but Windows seems to have forgotten all about the tinc adapter - ipconfig does not show an entry for it, there are no routes for it etc. Just opening the TCP/IP properties in control center

SSH connection hangs on shell commands when used through tinc
Hello! I have 3 PCs - Windows, FreeBSD and Ubuntu. FreeBSD runs as a tinc server as it has a real IP. Ubuntu runs as a tinc client as it has a dynamically changing public IP. Windows has not tinc installed yet. Therefore I use Putty ssh client to ssh to FreeBSD machine (as it has real IP) and then from there I ssh to the Ubuntu box using its virtual IP. The connection establishes well, I can ping

tinc bug (bogus connection)
guus, i just compiled latest cvs: the bug is still there. the diffs i have against what i got from cvs and what is debian 1.0.2_2 show that the only significant addition is of an AF_UNKNOWN and its use, and the use of a tinc- defined sockaddrfree (and copy?) i'm still getting some "Bogus packets" using latest cvs. i _am_ however, it appears... just now... actually getting valid

How to recognize tinc TCP connection with iptables
Hello, Is there a way to reliably identify a tinc TCP connection using iptables? Looking at the iptables documentation, the u32 test seems to be very flexible (though the "language" of the tests pretty unreadable): u32 U32 tests whether quantities of up to 4 bytes extracted from a packet have specified val? ues. The specification of what to extract is general enough
