Fw: New issue, configuring 2 Vista nodes
Yes, I am aware of this. It does not affect my problem; however, I have isolated the problem to the Norton Internet Security Firewall & I am working with their Engineering group to solve it. Weird behaviour between Windows Vista & Windows 7 VPN - can anyone help?
I am trying to connect a Windows Vista (Home) machine to a Windows 7 (Office) machine. I set up the tinc config files normally, and I am able to see the Vista (Home) machine from the Window 7 (Office) machine, but I cannot seem to do the reverse. I am beginning to wonder if this might be a known issue that someone has seen before. My configuration is as follows: Office PC

FW: Windows 7 support? Should I be able to PING over the VPN?
Thanks for the quick reply, Guus. Well the debug helped a little bit. So did re-reading the manual again. I think I got further ahead, but unfortunately I still cannot quite get to complete the connection between the two nodes. It looks like the two nodes are communicating - they seem to be able to exchange RSA keys & MetaKeys, but for some reason, they start trying to exchange data on

FW: New issue, configuring 2 Vista nodes behind Norton Internet Security 2010 Firewalls
Finally resolved the problem, I'm actually impressed with the throughput over the tinc VPN! I encountered & resolved two problems during this installation. First, the config files need to go in different places, depending on whether you run tinc as a service or in the foreground from a Command Prompt running as Administrator (C:\Program Files\tinc\...) or if you are running tinc in the

Weird behaviour between Windows Vista & Windows 7 VPN - can anyone help?. Still no success
I am at a loss to explain why it still doesn't work. I regenerated the keys and have eliminated the 'Bogus data received message'. In fact, the debug log looks totally normal now. However, when I try to 'ping' from the Home PC to the Office PC, I get a 'request timed out' message & Windows Networking is still not able to see the PC at the other end. I do see a

Win32 - log not created
I'm running Icecast in a Windows 32 bit environment. The icecast.xml path points to C:\Program Files\Icecast\log for <logdir>. <logging><loglevel> is set to 3. However, no logs are created at that location. :( Thanks for any leads. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Response time on Tinc VPNs, Bandwith on Tinc-VPN
Hello, response time: how is it possible to increase the response time on Tinc VPNs. When I use tinc over a fast or giga-bit network connection the ping-response time is normally about 1800 to 2000 ms. Sometimes I get ping response times at about 2.500 to 3.000 ms over a normal Ethernet Connection or a television-cable connection within the same providers-network in the same city. The ping-time

dual gateway with routing issues and tinc-up and host-up scripts for windows clients?
Hello everybody, I am doing some test with TINC and Windows 7 and I am having some issues with routing. (see attachment for the client configuration) The set-up I configured uses DHCP over the TINC tunnel and the Windows guests ends up with two gateways (one from its own network and one from the TINC network). The problem is that traffic when browsing the internet should go over the TINC tunnel

Windows 7 support? Should I be able to PING over the VPN?
Hello, 2 questions: 1. I see from the archives that Vista support requires downloading an updated TAP driver from OpenVPN.net. I have just downloaded tinc 1.0.13 and was not able to get the TAP driver to work on my Windows 7 computer. Should I assume that 1.0.13 doesn't have the most current TAP driver and I should use the one I downloaded from OpenVPN ? There seems to be

Vista SP1 performance fix - maybe!
Perhaps this may be of help... From: http://www.wservernews.com/ Slow Vista File Copy Nightmare Solved! WSN Reader Nick's Vista Horror story in last issue has a follow-up. TINC - sometimes working a bit
Hello everyone! I'm trying to get tinc running, but couldn't make it until now... My current situation is: all tincs are connected, but there ist (almost) no traffic: Only two PCs are able to ping to another, but not to itself. Let me explain, what I'm planning to do: I've got four networks: PROM: 10.69.0.0/16 PAN: 192.168.30.0/24 (I'm afraid, I can't change PAN to

Direct connections between nodes are in the same LAN (behind common NAT)
Hi I'm trying to implement a scheme in which the nodes will have a direct UDP tunnel to each other. First, all nodes make connection with one public node, and then make connections with each other. And I came across the following problem: Remotely located nodes can establish a direct UDP connection, but the nodes that are in the same local network can not, and all traffic goes through the

how to install "missing" netsh.exe using commands?
After trying to install Tunngle on Wine I came upon this error: _______________________ unable to execute file: netsh CreateProcess failed; code 2. File not found _______________________ I have scoured the internet for a fix for this problem to no avail. It seems it isn't just the program I'm using, it's a fairly common(ish) problem. The closest I came was with this forum here:

Tinc-up and Windows...
Hello, I've used tinc successfully for a long time, all with Linux hosts. No problem there. Unfortunately I now have to add a Windows host to the VPN. What a fight Winblows is! Probably just my ignorance. The VPN works and tinc says that tinc-up is run (and a debugging statement proves it) but I can't get an extra route added. tinc-up.bat contains: ------------------- netsh interface

[PATCH v2 06/35] crypto: Use kmemdup rather than duplicating its implementation
kmemdup is introduced to duplicate a region of memory in a neat way. Rather than kmalloc/kzalloc + memcpy, which the programmer needs to write the size twice (sometimes lead to mistakes), kmemdup improves readability, leads to smaller code and also reduce the chances of mistakes. Suggestion to use kmemdup rather than using kmalloc/kzalloc + memcpy. Signed-off-by: Fuqian Huang <huangfq.daxian

What's wrong in these configurations?
Hi guys!! I've followed the windows 2000/xp tutorial and not only, but it seems not to work! I've for sure committed some errors...
