Multicast over Tinc
Would it be extremely difficult to do multicast over tinc? How about reliable multicast over tinc? This would be more traffic than multicast dns, but not _necessarily_ a great deal more. It would be for syncing some information among freeipa domain controllers. Would the tinc nodes need to be in all in switch or maybe even hub mode? EthernetOverIP over tinc?

Packages for both version 1.0.21 and 1.1pre7 are available. His repository is here: http://mike.bentzen.com.au/tinc/ But you can also download them from the tinc website: http://www.tinc-vpn.org/download/ Installation should be

Troubleshooting on OS X
I've got tinc running happily on a couple linux and win computers, but no luck on OS X. I'm on Yosemite 10.10.5, and I think I followed the OS X tutorial exactly, but no luck. Here's my error message: > sudo tincd -n dpsf -D -d3 tincd 1.0.21 (Feb 3 2015 20:09:36) starting, debug level 3 Could not open /dev/tun0: No such file or directory Terminating And here's the contents

Troubleshooting on OS X
> kextload /Library/Extensions/tun.kext/ I didn't have a /Library/Extensions/tun.kext/ on my machine. I googled around, and downloaded and installed from http://tuntaposx.sourceforge.net/. Not sure why the macports install didn't work, but it seems I'm making progress. Now I get this: > sudo tincd -n dpsf -D -d3 tincd 1.0.21 (Feb 3 2015 20:09:36) starting, debug level 3

tinc on macosx
Hi, So I bought a new macbook 2 days ago. I already feel like I'm going to break it somehow. I am kind of surprised that there is no kind of package management system like dpkg being used. Anyway.. Looking at the macosx tinc wiki page on tinc-vpn.org, and it seems to be somewhat incomplete. I have a few questions. I installed the tuntaposx driver and set up the machine to connect to the

need an example with 2 different nets
Hi, thanks. Sorry for the mess with my gmail account... This made the route go away. But is this the right way to configure tinc? To give the tinc interface an IP (with 255.255.255.255 subnetmask) from the local (green) network it does route the traffic to? Does it make sense to give the tinc interface an 192.168.0.253 IP, when the net here is 192.168.0.0/24 on eth1 I can not find such a

List of reacheable partners
Hi everybody. Is there a way to have a list of reacheable partners and its connection status? I need to list all partners in any tinc instance, its status (connected / disconnected) and connection method (direct, relayed thru other partner, etc.) Thanks! -- *Ing. connectivity issues
Hi Guus and List, Since the CVE-2013-1428 was announced, I followed the recommendation to update my windows machines to tinc1.1pre7. I've had connectivity issues since upgrading. I've done some debugging but I can't figure out when or why its happening. All machines on the network are running Windows 7 or Windows 2008R2 Enterprise server and tinc 1.1pre7. I've got one master

LAN hosts not reachable
Me and my son are running Tinc over 5 nodes, 3 of them got public address and we using them as server. Each node has its own Lan subnet 192.168.0.0/24. Originally we ran network on Openwrt routers with Tinc many years without any problem, but due to limited RAM on routes and change of one router to not Openwrt supported model, we decided to transfer Tinc installation on Raspberry Pi-s in LAN.
