Troubleshooting on OS X
> kextload /Library/Extensions/tun.kext/
I didn't have a /Library/Extensions/tun.kext/ on my machine. I googled
around, and downloaded and installed from http://tuntaposx.sourceforge.net/.
Not sure why the macports install didn't work, but it seems I'm making
progress.
Now I get this:
> sudo tincd -n dpsf -D -d3
tincd 1.0.21 (Feb 3 2015 20:09:36) starting, debug level 3

Troubleshooting on OS X
Thanks very much! It's alive! For others who are having problems, this is
a summary of the differences I needed between Linux and OS X:
You'll need to install http://tuntaposx.sourceforge.net/ manually.
On tinc.conf:

Name = ntwigg2014linux
AddressFamily = ipv4
Interface = dpsfVPN
ConnectTo = dpserver001

Same, but remove the Interface line entirely

Examples request - tinc witn tun/utun mode=router
Hi Folks,
Does anyone have a set of config files handy, using tinc in routed/tun
mode (preferably DeviceType=utun)
I'm particularly interested to see what the tinc-up and tinc-down files
should look like when the vpn is not using tap mode.
I have this, from my tap (switch mode tinc) , but it doesn't work for
tun devices.
ifconfig $INTERFACE inet 10.10.101.2/24 up
If I run my

Troubleshooting on OS X
I've got tinc running happily on a couple linux and win computers, but no
luck on OS X. I'm on Yosemite 10.10.5, and I think I followed the OS X
tutorial exactly, but no luck.
Here's my error message:

Lion OS X tinc issues.
Hi Folks,
This has been driving me nuts all day. I've been unable to google myself out of it. Maybe someone here can help?
I followed the instructions from:
http://www.tinc-vpn.org/examples/macbook-install/
Ubuntu server <-> Ubuntu server works just fine with the same config. Ubuntu server <-> Mac laptop not so much.
The error I'm getting is:

Troubleshooting on OS X
I might be able to help with this. Here is an email that I sent to Guus some time ago:
>> Having moved onward from setting up a private tinc router-mode mesh on my routers and linux servers, I finally got around to installing and setting tinc up on my mac laptop. When I wanted to set up the mac so it could see my tinc network (but NOT route everything through it, road-warrior style), I

tinc on macosx
Hi,
So I bought a new macbook 2 days ago. I already feel like I'm going to
break it somehow.
I am kind of surprised that there is no kind of package management system
like dpkg being used. Anyway..
Looking at the macosx tinc wiki page on tinc-vpn.org, and it seems to be
somewhat incomplete.
I have a few questions. I installed the tuntaposx driver and set up the
machine to connect to the

KVM VM traffic over host's Tinc VPN
Hello Tinc list!
I'm trying to set up a Tinc VPN between two KVM host machines so that a
VM on one host can communicate with a VM on the other host. While I do
have a good bit of experience with virtualization, I'm not a
particularly savvy network guy, so this is proving to be a pretty big
challenge.
Requirements:
* ALL VM network traffic must be secure.
* VMs on one host must be

Multiple default gateway from tinc node
Hi, Guus
I did some test regarding the points you mentioned below, and yes, you’re right, but some of points may need further adjusted:
1. The destination of IPv4 wouldn’t be changed, Yes I agree, that’s the goal and final destination for the communication. But during the path, it may be encapsulated into another packet(tunnel mode), where the outside IP header is the physical address, but the

Tinc on OsX, slowly getting there....
I have now got the tinc demons (on network OFFICES) on BranchB and
BranchA talking to each other, and I have been able to access
services (like AFP, Apple file sharing) between the two hosts (in
both directions), but not beyond the local network connected to
BanchA.
I am unclear which routing can be provided by tinc and which routing
would I have to add manually.
The aim is:
BranchB is a

Problem With Android Configuration
Yes. The problem is lollipop. I tried to install tinc on my brother's
device which mount a cyano 10.1( android 4.2.2) and it works.
I don't understand which is the problem with lollipop. Is there a firewall
that block the packets?
Andrea Squeri
If you are running Lollipop / Android 5.x on your Nexus 5, then you are
probably seeing the same issue I was with it. lollipop seems to change

Tinc on NixOS
Hi,
Does anyone here have experience running Tinc on NixOS?
I'm trying to run Tinc on a NixOS machine, using the similar configuration
i had for Ubuntu. My home subnet is 192.168.1.0/24 and my work is
10.16.0.0/24. However, unlike ubuntu, when I start tincd on nixos, and try
to 'ifconfig $INTERFACE 192.168.1.10 netmask 255.255.255.0' in my tinc-up,
I loose network access on the box

Shorewall/OpenVPN issue
Good day,
I have gone through a couple of the HOWTO''s on how to get this to work, but
I am still sitting with a very strange (for me) issue.
If two clients connect via OpenVPN (bridged), they can access each other
without any problems, but neither of them can access the server, nor any
system behind it.
I am fairly sure it is a Shorewall issue, but I am very new to Shorewall,

tinc vpn - node to node communication
Hi
Ok I have a simple lab setup with three nodes , one acting as the "Central
Node" and the other two as remote nodes which "*ConnectTo*" the central
node in order to be able to communicate with each other.
What I would like to know is , once the tinc remote nodes establish a
connection to the "Central Node" , my understanding was that if the remote
nodes want to
