We had been using rsync and Commercial SSH to sync up two SUN boxes running Solari2.6 and Commercial SSH Version 2.0.12. But when I try to do same between Linux and Solaris everything works fine, transfer speed is about

smbfs support under Solaris8?
The smbmount man page states that the kernel must support the smbfs file system for ambmount to function. I've been unable to determine whether Solaris8 supports smbfs. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has some experience here. Regards, Rick Wightman rwightman@agfor.nb.ca

Building Samba 3.0.1 on Solaris8 x86
Good day, I just tried building Samba 3.0.1 on a generic Solaris8 x86 box with ACL support as the only configure option and the build fails quite early. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Solaris8 and winbind.
Hi, I used to look forward to Samba's warning free compilations, but this is to be no more. I've got samba 2.2.2 installed and running with --without-winbind, but it seems that this is a good thing to have. Sooo... Has anyone successfully compiled winbind on Solaris 8 using cc? I'm using cc (cc: Sun WorkShop 6 update 1 C 5.2 2000/09/11) and am running into the same compile
