bad case of buzzing
Hello,
We are at wit's end on this. One (and only one) of our five asterisk
installation is giving us real headaches. Buzzing and/or choppy sound
interfere with conversations. I recorded some conversations with
monitor() and no problem whatsoever appear in the recording, while the
local user was hearing the buzz and half my words.
This is a 1.2.16 installation with mISDN but mostly using

BUG: ssh-agent unlinks sockets/files it doesn't own.
I've noticed a problem in the openssh sources. It can most easily be
replicated as follows:

> 01:05:47$ ssh-agent -a ~/.ssh/agent.sock
> SSH_AUTH_SOCK=/home/rich/.ssh/agent.sock; export SSH_AUTH_SOCK;
> SSH_AGENT_PID=553; export SSH_AGENT_PID;

ssh wrapper scripts
Hello
This is an idea someone had that I thought of implementing, but I don't
know whether I have the time. Regardless, I would only do it if you
would include it with the OpenSSH distribution, so I would need to know
your opinion.
OpenSSH is a very useful an very versatile tool. Not only a remote
terminal - but also an FTP-like client/server, an app for copying files,
an aid for port

can't connect to home share after renaming Windows user
I just went through the ordeal of renaming a Windows user account (from
the previous incumbent's name to the position title, so I won't have to
repeat this). Everything went smoothly. The account has access to the
programs and files that it previously did. The roaming profile is being
updated when the user logs out. The C:\user\president folder is

Multiple Integration
Dear all,
May I do multiple integration using R? I was looking
adapt but it is saying it integrates a scalar function
over a multidimensional rectangle. I have integrand of
several variable and upper, lower limit too variable.
I wanted to see the result using adapt (though it is
not for this purpose, I suppose)
Func<-function(x){(x[1]*x[2])}
adapt(2, lo=c(0,1), up=c(1,x[1]), functn=Func)

centos 8-Streams kernel?
Heh,
Your sentiments on the website very much mirror my own, although I?m more focused on server applications rather than on desktop (we use Macs and Ubuntu for that). When Red Hat announced Streams, I was terrified at first and my first instinct was to switch to Rocky or a similar 1:1 distro, but then thought there might be something good coming out of the whole ordeal. And indeed it did, we

How to improve the throughput
Dear
I am very new to tinc and would like to ask any advice regarding tinc's
throughput.
I have been using OpenVPN for several years and found tinc as a
simpler/scaler VPN using TUN/TAP device.
I have tried to use tinc on WindowsXP and measured throughput in
contrast to OpenVPN.
My test revealed that tinc is faster in PING response (almost half of
OpenVPN). However, when I tested with

why is zpool import still hanging in opensolaris 2009.06 ??? no fix yet ???
Follow-up : happy end ...
It took quite some thinkering but... i have my data back...
I ended up starting without the troublesome zfs storage array, de-installed the iscsitartget software and re-installed it...just to have solaris boot without complaining about missing modules...
That left me with a system that would boot as long as the storage was disconnected... Reconnecting it made the boot

Cisco 7920 Image
Does anyone know if there is a Smartnet contract or whatnot available from
Cisco for access to the latest 7920 images?
I've got one w/ asterisk that is exhibiting a few of the documented bugs
running 1.0.3 (1.0.7 is the latest IIRC).
Thanks!

FreeBSD ssh AD authentication
After reading the related chapter in the Samba-3 HOWTO document
I've tried to put the AD authentication in place in our network
on two systems and I got stuck in exactly the same place.
Here are the software configs I was using :

Samba Version 3.0.10
Sys 2

Windows Vista file copying over openvpn
Hi all,
I'm using openvpn to connect to a public server that has Samba v3.0.24
installed on Debian etch. The connection is over the internet (from a
standard ADSL connection to a remote server on a 2Mbit LL).
The problem is copying somewhat 'larger' files from the client to the
server. Copying files of up to 2 megabyte goes well but larger files
fail (4 MB, 6MB, or more). The error

summary(object) not showing all values of a factor
Dear all,
I am encountering some odd results from the summary(object) command for
coxph and hurdle models. In both cases the result of summary(object)
function leaves out one of the categories of a categorical variable used in
the model. It is typically the first category if sorted alphabetically. Is
there any way around this problem?
For example, if I have categorical variable "type"

PRI Errors (HDLC Abort (6) on Primary D-channel)
UPDATE. The circuit has run clean since the 7th. It seems the telco found
a problem after all but they can't tell me what they did... cause they
think it was fixed as part of another case. Grrr.
Well, I never doubted the T400P too much but I went ahead and bought a
different card just in case. Haven't had to use it so far.
One of the biggest reasons I did not think the Wildcard was at
