Sendmail log entries
Recently we began seeing lots of these log entries on our off-site mx smtp host. I have googled this but I am not clear from what I have read if this is something we can stop altogether or should even worry about. Comments? SSH connection hangs on shell commands when used through tinc
Hello! I have 3 PCs - Windows, FreeBSD and Ubuntu. FreeBSD runs as a tinc server as it has a real IP. Ubuntu runs as a tinc client as it has a dynamically changing public IP. Windows has not tinc installed yet. Therefore I use Putty ssh client to ssh to FreeBSD machine (as it has real IP) and then from there I ssh to the Ubuntu box using its virtual IP. The connection establishes well, I can ping

Working or not working depending on variable order in tinc.conf
Hello! I was trying to set up a VPN between a FreeBSD and Windows box. I didn't have to invent anything, as this connection worked before, but I had to reinstall WinXP from scratch. Being too lazy to use previous setup from a backup I set up it once again by memory. It didn't work, so I started to refer to a working connection between FreeBSD and Ubuntu. Then I found out that on my box

Q's about switching from sendmail to postfix
Running CentOS 4.2 with all updates. I've been using sendmail for my MTA since forever. I've grown used to it and I can make it do what I want it to. However (there's always a catch, isn't there)... Lately it seems that some mail is being lost. I've noticed some instances when a message was sent to myself and others which I will only see if someone replies back to

Newbie Question: Building an Asterisk systemto replace an old PBX but using existing phone
Yeah....I think that every install I have done the first thing that happens is "why is there a delay before the call connects?" and the answer is "you have to hit dial or wait 10 seconds". -Jonathan -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of Tom Rymes Sent: Thursday, August 11, 2005

Configuration of hosts
I'm probably doing something I'm not supposed to even try, but I'm trying for "proof of concept" before physically setting up a distant network because of logistical issues. Anyway, I have tincd running as a service on two windows machines on the same lan. I'm trying to establish a connection between those two computers on the vpn ip's (10.20.30.1 and 10.20.40.1).

Service wont start
WindowsXPsp3 All of the installation steps worked fine, it seemed. But after I ran: tincd -n vpn even though I got: tinc.vpn service installed tinc.vpn service started when I look at my connections (using ipconfig /all), the "Media State" is "Media disconnected" for the "Ethernet adapter vpn:". Further, when I look at Services, I find tinc.vpn with Startup Type

One more newbie question
Ok, I am going for A@H with the CentOS iso disk. Installed and just checking a few things out. My other question is this, which I forgot to ask before. We have no Broadband here and more than likely will never have, so I am just looking at building Asterisk to handle inbound and outbound calls, at home via a ISDN card and for my hotel job via a PSTN line setup. Is this very complicated to setup

replacing Courier imapd
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi folks, I currently use courier imapd, exim and ldap on my mail box. There are no users on this box, all info is taken from the ldap server. I note that dovecot does not use ldap as a backend, but curious if this in on the cards, or even mysql backend. Sean - -- Sean Rima http://www.tcob1.net Linux User:

Panasonic x Asterisk if I can emulate Panasonic fast!
Im a 3-days-asterisk-newbie. In 3 weeks, I must have a PBX installed in a new office of ours: Panasonic or Asterisk. Asterisk would be, if I can emulate some Panasonic functions on Asterisk fast, to convince the executives. What I have done until now: Bought 1 Linksys pap2 (2 FXS), 1 Linksys SPA3102 (1 FXS + 1 FXO) for making asterisk tests. Configured Asterisk/Fedora 9 so I can make SIP->PSTN
