On Windows tinc-up.bat started too soon?
Hi all, I have run into the problem on the windows machine that the tinc-up.bat command/file is started too soon. I set-up additional routes there and when I manually start the tinc daemon I get complaints that the routes can not be created because the host (the "other" tinc host) is not local on the network (i.e. the vpn is, according to Windows, not up yet). Is this a known

Multiple SAMBA servers
Hello, I'm about to install SAMBA in a HA (High Avalibility) solution with Solaris 2.6 and First Watch. I have two SAMBA servers that normally runs on two machines, in case of a failure of one of the machine the other machine is supposed to take over the failed machine's services. Also the IP adress is moved (the machine will now have multiple IP adresses (on the same logical net)). So

Re: [Lrlug-discuss]emergency....file/directory recovery
We have had another instance of this..... since I am forwarding to other lists, "this" involves a lost file, due to accidental deletion. in this case, we had a backup, but from the backup time, till deletion time, a lot of data had been lost. So, we have not enough disk space to do hourly backups, novell allowed recovery of a lost file like this, so: is there a filesystem that we

Hi I'm trying to integrate your speex codec on our custom Blackfin board and without uCLinux. I am using ADI-supplied VisualDSP++ IDE and corresponding toolchain. My question is: Is there anybody who ported speex with enabled BFIN_ASM to VisualDSP++ ? Best Regards, Stefan Voss -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

turning R expressions into functions?
[ please copy me on answers, since I am not subscribed to the list ] Dear all, I am trying to write an R function which uses system.time to determine which of a given list of R expressions executes fastest. To work around the limited resolution of system.time, I want to convert the given expressions into functions which execute the given expressions a fixed number of times. My current attempt

two questions about ssh tunneling
if I: ssh -fND localhost:6000 somebody at 192.168.56.5 -p PORTNUMBER from computer "A" to computer "B" [B = 192.168.56.5] then I can set the SOCKS proxy for e.g.: Firefox to use "localhost:6000" on computer "A". Ok. I can surf the web through "B". But: - Can anyone sniff the traffic of "A"? [e.g.: computers on same subnet as

UDP and NAT
At the moment I have 2 network connected in a VPN and I'm planning to extend this. Actual status: Network A has a public IP Network B is behind a provider-scale NAT. Actually I'm using openvpn with a single UDP connection from B to A, and hosts inside Network A can communicate with B. I tried with tinc, and I saw tinc has to go TCP-Only for accomplish this. This is because Tinc

how to set default proxy?
hi I know that I could use ssh tunneling: ssh -fND localhost:6000 SOMEBODY at 192.168.56.5 -p PORTNUMBER to surf the web through another machines internet connection -> I just need to set Firefox to use proxy 6000. But: How can I set that on the client side, to e.g.: ping through the machine with openssh-server? Not just setting Firefox to use port 6000. Is there any method for

Might want to allow different host keys for different ports on same host
Hi, and here's the next feature request, which sounds interesting. Also I think I won't need much extra code to add this feature. deploying with capistrano - web site responds much faster
Hi, just out of curiosity: I have a RoR website, and till now I used to deploy it by hand. Now I''ve deployed it automatically, and after this the web site response is much faster. I don''t know if capistrano did something else too, though the speed of how the site runs has increased a lot. there is another thing though: I''m using a shared account on textdrive, and there
