newbie problems
Hello all-- I am trying to get a tunnel up between a RedHat 9 (hare) machine and a Suse 9 machine (turtle). tinc-1.0.2 compiled fine on each (although I have tried this with the precompiled binary just in case). No matter what I seem to do, I can't get any output whatsoever. No log output with -d5 -D, no /var/log/messages output, nothing at all. tincd just returns with a 1

Tinc not starting but not complaining either
Hi everybody, I've spent last 16 hours trying to get Tinc working on my two almost identical linux boxes. Both are running Debian stable with backported Openssl and self-compiled kernel 2.4.24 with ebtables-patch to enable bridging firewall. Both firewalls have both masquaraded and just bridged nets behind (LAN & DMZ) and they are working perfectly. Now I need to get from my home to

This is no problem really, but a question like yours could easily be answered by anyone else, so you should have posted it to the list tinc@nl.linux.org. tinc configuration question
This is a follow-up on my previous post: http://www.tinc-vpn.org/pipermail/tinc/2008-September/001759.html After being able to build tinc from source on FC8, I have stumbled upon some configuration issue. My tinc daemon is configured as follows: [root at optiplex060 crc_idb1]# pwd /usr/local/etc/tinc/crc_idb1 [root at optiplex060 crc_idb1]# ls -l total 24 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2008-09-15

Easy Cert Management
I absolutely love tinc and the features it brings to the table, and also the stability it provides. My one issue with tinc is that managing certs between different nodes seems rather inconvenient. By using "tincd -n vpn -D -d5" I can see when a cert fingerprint is denied. Does tinc have features like that of puppet where you can list the pending certs and accept or deny them? see

Hello Community, I'm using tinc a while, but now it's the first time i have to install it on my first windows 10 client... bah, i hate windows 10, but anyway... so i just got the latest stable version of tinc and installed it the usual way - so far no problem... tap virtual adapter is present and configured, tinc config is the same as usual, so i just started the daemon... and it

Error while processing ID
Hello all, my apologies if I have failed to RTFM, but the PDF manual and google were no help. I am trying to get a simple two node tunnel setup. I have verified that the up scripts bring up the interfaces as they are written; however my gut feeling is that there is something wrong there, but I am not sure exactly what. Misc items: * I have a Port line in horcrux because I ran INIT as a user,

PMTU = 1518 over local network at 1500 MTU
Hi all, I have two nodes, connected to a switch, using Tinc 1.1 from git. They connect each other with sptps, and to other nodes in the Internet with old protocol because they have Tinc 1.0. There is no problem with remote nodes, but between my 2 local nodes, they see 1518 PMTU. But local network is 1500 MTU !!! So nodes can ping each other but larger data does not go. test1=sllm1 test2=sllm2

Behavior like -R and -L SSH
Hi All, I've been playing around with TINC and like what I've seen so far. I wanted a TINC tunnel like this, where I have a server on the Internet with a public IPv4 address as my TINC server. Then I can have clients connect to it and see each other except that the client at a customer site would allow me to route behind it so I could see hosts on site beyond my device on premise. I do

Hello folks, I have the following problem: tincd is complaining about a missing name or so but i cannot find any mistake in the configuration.
