Dial plan suggestions
Hello all,
I've been asked to look into my home dial plan to see if I can improve
it by an important customer (my wife).
What we would like to have happen is that an inbound call rings all the
phones (This is done). Once one phone picks up, of course all the others
stop ringing (Also done). Here's the gotcha. She doesnt like having to
"transfer" calls to another phone;

subsetting a dataframe
How does one remove a column from a data frame when the name of
the column to remove is stored in a variable?
For Example:
colname <- "LOT"
newdf <- subset(olddf,select = - colname)
The above statement will give an error, but thats what I'm trying to
accomplish.
If I had used:
newdf <- subset(olddf,select = - LOT)
then it would have worked, but as I said the column

Asterisk 1.4 and Cepstral
Greetings,
I've recently upgraded from Asterisk 1.2 to 1.4. I've been searching for
a solution, but am also trying the easy way at the same time. I've now
got David of Cepstral now speaking using app_swift from
http://www.mezzo.net/asterisk/app_swift.html .
The problem is, he sounds way worse than he did when it was asterisk
version 1.2. I'm seriously considering either

[HELP] Proxy ARP & OSPF
Hi,
The network topo looks like this:
the original network:
router1 router2

|----------------OSPF------------|
the target network: (we need to insert a transparent firewall between
these 2 routers, so a proxy arp is set up on firewall to bridge
router1 and router2)

Tinc for gaming
Hi,
We are trying to set up tinc for playing lan games over the internet.
The three of us are running tinc, can ping each other and browse shared
folders. yes, windows :|
However we cannot connect because we don't show up in the game lobby.
The games usually require udp ports to be open, but I think these are all
open once we establish the tinc tunnel.
Also, testing with all computers in

SAMBA and 2 form factor auth
Hi All,
I havent heard a response back to my previous posts so I am now trying
from a "broader" topic.
What I have is the following:
A 2 Form Factor Token Authentication system similar to RSA SecureID
A Linux SAMBA 3.0.14a-Debian
I've got the two systems authenticating against each other with RADIUS
via PAM support. When I tell SAMBA to use this PAM support as well, I

PAM vs smbpasswd oddity
Hi Folks,
so now I've managed to trick the authentication server to caching the
one time passwords for me. I'm down to the last two problems:
1. Something odd that I've noticed is that when I use PAM authentication
Windows clients are outright refused. When I enable "encrypted"
passwords, therefor disabling PAM, I'm then able to log in but with the
use of static

CryptoCard - PAM or RADIUS?
Greetings all,
I'm working on attempting to get SAMBA to work with a product line
called CryptoCard. I *should* be able to get it to work one of two ways,
either through the use of CryptoCard's provided PAM module, or through
RADIUS authentication.
Currently, I cannot seem to get PAM authentication to work at all. This
is what is in the 'samba' file for PAM:

Tinc + OSPF - is it feasible?
Hello,
Please tell me if it's possible to use tinc together with OSPF (instead of
static routes in LAN). By OSPF I mean Quagga's GNU/Linux daemon.
Namely, I have a group of LANs (private 192.168.x.0/24 each).
Each LAN has a GNU/Linux default gateway, 192.168.x.1, that also connects
to the Internet via a public IP address (does NAT and firewall for the LAN
"behind" it).

Tinc OSPF involving bridge
Hi Everyone,
I have a routing situation where Tinc looks like it could come in extremely useful, but I have a query I hope someone can cast an eye on, as I'm unsure whether Tinc can help me here.
I currently have a Quagga OSPF linux router which connects LAN A to LAN B over the quickest available of two routes (both routes at both ends connect to Quagga boxes to prevent collisions).

Allowing OSPF
What shorewall rules would be required to allow the OSPF routing protocol to
pass fw<->loc?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

proxy arp & gratuitous ARP reply
Hello,
My apologies if this isn''t the right place to send questions about this
thread.
I have a couple one''s about proxy_arp and gratuitous arp reply frames.
I have setup the proxy_arp parameter on a linux system (kernel 2.4.20).
Now, when I start a M$-Windoze machine it complain about "...duplicated
IP address...".
This is a know behaviour, and the solution is

6.5 vpn/gre/ospf breakage
Hi List,
FYI.
We have been using CentOS 6.4 and have 2 vpn/gre tunnels to separate cisco rtrs using ospf.
with kernel 2.6.32-358.23.2
We have upgraded to 6.5 bit using kernel 2.6.32-431.5.1 and the exact same configuration scripts for
our vpn/gre tunnels.
What I see is the first gre tunnel works great and I get an ospf neighbor.
The second tunnel comes up and I can ping across it and I see

OSPF problems
I have a fairly simply laid out network that could easily use static routing. However, I
plan to expand quickly and don''t wish to spend the better part of my life maintaining
static routes.

Best setup for redundant routers.
I am setting up 2 Vyatta routers that will serve as redundant failover
core routers out to the backbone of our ISP. They will be serving for
routing between other branches and the ISP and bandwidth management.
I am trying to differentiate between the plethora of information about
having redundant, automatic failover routers and pretty much decided on
VRRP for the IP address failover mechanism.

OSPF with Netem
Hi all,
I am currently trying to emulate a satellite link, via Netem, on a testbed which is OSPF-enabled.
I''d like to set up a Netem box between two routers.
Since all routing between routers is dynamic, I''m wondering how to set up OSPF on my Netem box?
Could someone indicate me if it is feasible and give me some guidelines to possibly do so?
Thanks in advance,
Vincent.

Shorewall and multicast
Hi, all!
Can I enable multicasting via shorewall?
I have router with Gentoo Linux (one interface to ISP, one with alises - to
local network). Shorewall work perfect!
But now I need setup Quagga (zebra) for dynamic routing between one more
router via another provider.
All routers daemons (zebra, ripd, ospf) used multicasting.
In my configuration already enabled allowBcast and etc.

2 Bridged Ethernet + STP connections to LAN B
2 VLANs on LAN A
5 VLANs on LAN B

iproute2 source routing problem
Hi all,
I am using a redhat 8.x linux box configured with zebra routing software which is also configured with ospfd
I have 2 backbone routers running ospf connected to different isp''s
I have 3 local routers also running ospf within themselfs and also with the 2 backbone routers (all are linux boxes)
router A - backbone router 1
router B - backbone router 2
router C - local router 1
