dynamic adding of nodes
Thanks Guus for answering all of these many emails.
I now had a question as to if it is possible for something like this.
Suppose that you have a Tinc VPN network made up of 4 nodes (A, B, C, D)
and you want to dynamically add new nodes (E, F). How can this be done
without having to re-start all of the nodes A-D?
Based upon what I can see, each node condifuration files need to be

internal & external networks
First of all let me say thanks for answering all of my emails to the
mailing list with the many questions that I have had. Your answers have
been a great help.
Just a few more questions, ok.
I have been reading over the documentation and need to find out how Tinc
behaves regarding the VPN and hosts as I will have to distinct
situtations to address in our system.

pausing scrub crashed scrub daemon on nodes
Hi,
I am using glusterfs 3.10.1 with 30 nodes each with 36 bricks and 10 nodes
each with 16 bricks in a single cluster.
By default I have paused scrub process to have it run manually. for the
first time, i was trying to run scrub-on-demand and it was running fine,
but after some time, i decided to pause scrub process due to high CPU usage
and user reporting folder listing taking time.
But scrub

issue with fileserve in KH branch
Hello together
after trying to deploy one of the latest version out of the KH branch to
our servers we ran into an issue with streaming of ondemand files.
After deploying 2.3.2-kh27.1 and also trying 2.3.2-kh24 and 2.3.2-kh22
we see that if we try to stream an ondemand file through the fileserv
option we get the ondemand file play back correctly and also see the
appropriate file length in

[PATCH nbdkit] New ondemand plugin.
This creates filesystems on demand. A client simply connects with a
desired export name and a new export is created. The export is
persistent (until deleted by the server admin), and clients may
disconnect and reconnect. In some respects this is similar to the
nbdkit-tmpdisk-plugin, or nbdkit-file-plugin with the dir= option.

Help
Hi to all,
We are a bit of newbes to imap etc, so may be we just not doing it
right. Nevertheless,
We have compiled dovecot to run under Solaris 8/9 for IPv6 test. We are
going crazy.
After a successful compilation, the troubles really began.
Solaris 9
1. Every?time we reboot- the directory /var/run/dovecot/auth is gone
????
2. After the dir is created manually, the server starts.

centos 7: trouble setting the ondemand governor
Hi,
The default "stop" action for the cpupower service seems to be to set
the ondemand governor, but this fails. I can reproduce the issue
directly by running cpupower:
$ sudo cpupower frequency-set -g ondemand
Setting cpu: 0
Error setting new values. Common errors:
- Do you have proper administration rights? (super-user?)
- Is the governor you requested available and modprobed?

Tinc and multi-netname setting on single machines with 1 ethernet card
greetings All,
I have been reading over the Tinc manual and have become very interested
in the "4.2 Multiple Networks" section of the manual.
In particular, I am wondering if I read this correctly in that by using:
`-n, --net=netname'
Use configuration for net netname.
then I can have multiple daemons running on the same machine.
If I have 3 machines A, B, and C with A being

Plotting symbols with two positions?
Thanks a lot to Demitris for a prompt answer some minutes ago on another
tread (see below). To avoid excess mails on the list, I move onto next
question:
I have another small plotting problem that confuses me. I want to plot
results from a field trial series, using the numbers of the trials as
symbols in the plot.
pch = as.character(trial_no)
works fine, but truncates the trial number to the

Address Variabme for Roadwarriors]
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly on this.
In thinking about the topology that I am trying to set up, I will
probably only set up a "private" DNS on the VPN for the 10.x.x.x users.
With this in mind, I have now come up with a new question relating to this.
What I will like to do is to give all of the uses, including
roadwarriors, a static IP address on the 10.x.x.x address

Questions on cpu frequency scaling AMD vs. Intel
I've been playing and comparing frequency scaling between AMD and Intel
CPUs yesterday and there seem to be great differences between AMD and
Intel and some gotchas. This is all on CentOS 5.2 with latest Xen kernels
(which are supposed to be powersaving-enabled since 5.2).
AMD:
It seems once I get the AMD CPU to use the ondemand governor it works very
well and very efficiently. But this

scalability and bandwidth usage?
Hello All,
How are you all doing today? Good i hope.
I am wondering if some one could please comment on the scalability
limitations of Tinc as far as bandwidth usage and connections?
Thinking about the documentation on Tinc suggests that if it is always
trying to maintain a full mesh topology and if there would be many
nodes, e.g. more than about 100 or so active at a give time, then Tinc

using smbadduser non-interactively
Hello All,
Could someone please tell me if there is a was to use smbadduser in a
non-interactive mode and just allow you to enter all of the
particular user information on the command line?
I need to set up a small script that will automate adding users to
the smbpasswd file so that they can login.
Cheers,
Lonnie

[LLVMdev] ARM LNT test-suite Buildbot
Hi Renato,
I'm playing with A15 bots too (running Ubuntu). This is probably what you
want to have predictable performance:
Disable auto-resetting the CPU scaling governor to ondemand:
sudo update-rc.d -f ondemand remove
Then add this to /etc/rc.local:
# Disable power management.
for cpu in `find /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq/scaling_governor`;
do
echo performance > $cpu

Is there something missing?
Hello All,
I hope that you are all doing well. I have been trying to get Samba
setup and running on my Redhat 7.2 box so that users on Windows
machines can login and be connected to their directory.
The problem is that no matter what I try, I can see the Samba server
from the Windows machine, but it keeps telling me that the password
was not recognized and is the same linux password for each

Address Variabme for Roadwarriors
Hello All,
I was just looking over how to set up the hosts files for Tinc and was
wondering about how to handle Roadwarriors?
It appears that the variable "Address=" must be set for individuals to
connect to a host, right?
Also, I am wondering about possibly using a private DNS+DHCP server
combination that would allow the 10.x.x.x users to have their VPN ip
resolved but this does

Designing Tinc with Threads and Groups
Hello All,
I have been trying to get a feel for the Tinc sources because I would like
to see about developing a version of Tinc that uses threads and also
incorporated the idea of groups so that when a user starts up their daemon
they can join one or more groups.
I know that you can establish multiple "networks" on a single daemon, but
from what I understand, you also have to have
