[PATCH] host-up and host-down hooks
Hi,
Here's a dead simple patch that causes tinc to run optional host-up and
host-down scripts as hosts come up and go down. This allows custom host
up/down functionality to run without having to know host names in
advance. Please consider for future inclusion in tinc. I can provide
documentation patches if this is accepted.

10th anniversary of tinc 1.0
Hello everyone,
Today is exactly 10 years ago that tinc 1.0 was released. I would have hoped to
celebrate this by releasing 1.0.22 and 1.1pre8 today, but this will instead
happen in one week.
Tinc 1.1 is close to becoming stable, and I hope to release 1.1.0 before the
end of the year. The main features of tinc 1.1 are the improved security over
tinc 1.0, and a much nicer interface that makes it

AIX 5.3 Samba member server to an NT domain
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I'm trying to get AIX to authenticate users off another Samba server (with
an eye to doing the same off a Windows server at some point, just to be
flexible). I have been using the binary distribution of Samba 3.0.22 to do
this. While I have been able to get users to log in by using the WINBIND
authentication method, they still cannot change their password or use FTP. I

Incorrect link to qemu-img
The page describing setting up HVM domains[1] contains an incorrect link
for downloading qemu-img. It has a link to
http://dlc.sun.com/osol/xen/download/current/qemu-img while it should be
http://dlc.sun.com/osol/xen/downloads/current/qemu-img (note the ''s'' on
downloads).

compression
Hi,
posted a message to the tinc list few days ago, but seems that there is not
that much going on on that list, so I try here.
The homepage of tinc says it compresses all traffic, but the manpage says
that it only compresses UDP packets.
Which one is true?
Another thing, how much active development is going on with tinc at the
moment? I see that "version 2" is mentioned.
Or is there

Segmentation fault with latest 1.1 revision
Hello,
I am trying 1.1 branch and I experience a segmentation fault upon ALRM signal.
This looks like a race condition.
I have my tincd daemon instantiated manually in if-up.d/jmuchemb (without IF_TINC_NET) and when if-up.d/tinc runs, it sends a ALRM signal that makes tincd crash.
It fails here:
Core was generated by `tincd -D -n jmuchemb -d -o ConnectTo srv -o srv.Address 81.x.y.z -o

Self-DoS
Hi,
I have successfully connected a network of about 60 nodes (many of which are virtual machines) with tinc 1.0 but encounter a severe bug when physical connectivity between two major locations is lost and then reconnected. From what I gathered, many nodes attempt to connect to many other nodes, causing 100% CPU load on all nodes, taking down the whole network with no node succeeding connecting

Segmentation fault
Hello,
Last night there appears to have been a loop in the network of my colocation provider. Somehow this loop/packet flood caused tinc to crash. I guess that, even though it seems to have restarted, it did not manage to reconnect/re-open the tap device/something else went wrong; the machine itself was communicating with the internet but I could not access it over the VPN.

How to list pools that are not imported
Hi all,
again might be a FAQ, but imagine that I have a pool on USB stick,
I insert the stick, and how can I figure out what poools are available
for ''zpool import'' without knowing their name?
zpool list does not seem to be listing those,
thanx,

[PATCH] IceCast2 - socket-based default mount
I wrote a patch which makes client connections retain info about which
socket they connected to - this way, you can change the server's behavior
based on which <listen-socket> is being connected to.
In addition, I added a field to the <listen-socket> section of the config
file called <default-mount> which specifies a default file in the
case that one isn't specified (it

[PATCHES] Smartjog PatchDump
Hello,
I work at SmarctJog.com, we have here some patches on IceCast for
performance and reliability, these are mostly client/connection/source
cleanups (a slave merge is underway, and some more good stuff (c)),
but we'd like this to be merged in before the list gets any longer.
Please find attached a list of our patches with a short desc:

Missing headers in Icecast2
Hi Karl,
Thanks for your help,
About the "Connection:" header, you are right, it's:
"Connection: close" and NOT "Connection: keep-alive". The protocol when the
SERVER sends the data is http 1.0. It's http 1.1 when the browser requests
the data.
I don't understand the "Content-Length: 54000000" header either. Also I
noticed the flash player on

can't access shared folder from windows machine
Our domain controller is samba on FreeBSD server. I administer internal Linux server with samba installed on it too. When I share folder on my internal server, it's visible and mountable by server itself, but can't be accessed from windows machines in the same subnet. I get error: "Failed to get configuration information from domain controller. It's not accessible." May be

NUT control of vCenter & vServer?
That's certainly on the list of options. I'm doing data gathering right now
to see what options there are. I'd prefer not to rashly decide to run off
in a direction only to discover this is already a Solved Problem.

NUT control of vCenter & vServer?
Thanks Bart. Unfortunately "The VIB module does not comply with the
security recommendations imposed by VMWare. You lose VMWare support by
installing this package." This pretty much rules out this option. :(
We need vCenter support, as well.
