Hi,
I asked this once and no one seem to answer. So I'm trying once again:

Anyway everytime I build I have this odd problem and until now I always found a way to solve it but now I'm really stuck. I'm trying to build tinc-pre7 and I always reach to this error on configure:

tinc dies after some days/weekes of normal activity
Hello,
I successfully use tinc for one year in a configuration with several
subnets (about 5-7 subnets) and one main server. Sometimes tinc dies
with the error message:
Error while waiting for input: Bad file descriptor
If it happens, this happens immediately, when one subnet has
disconnected. tinc (on the main server) tries then to disconnect all
currently connected subnets and while

Hi, a config question
Hi all,
I have the following question. If the master tinc dies (the one that clients
have ConnectTo option), does clients conntinue to communicate with each
other ?
I noteced the following. If there is some traffic between the clients and
the master tinc dies - there is no problem. But if there is no traffic
between clients and the master dies, then when I try to access some

using both ConnectTo and AutoConnect to avoid network partitions
Hi Guus
Following your suggestion we reconfigured our tinc network as follows.
Here is a new graph and below is our updated configuration:
http://imgur.com/a/n6ksh
- 2 Tinc nodes (yellow labels) have a public external IP and port 655 open.
They both have ConnectTo's to each other and AutoConnect = yes
- The remainder tinc nodes (blue labels) have their tinc.conf set up as

using both ConnectTo and AutoConnect to avoid network partitions
Hi Guus
Thanks for clarifying. Some follow up questions:
- How do we patch 1.1pre14 with this fix? Or will there be a 1.1pre15 to
upgrade to?
- What is the workaround until we patch with this fix? Using a combination
of AutoConnect and ConnectTo?
- When we use ConnectTo, is it mandatory to have a cert file in the hosts/*
dir with an IP to ConnectTo ?

Hi, a problem
just minutes ago I upgraded one of my PC to kernel 2.4.14 and after that
starting Tincd gives me the following error:
" tinc.vpn1[2611]: Error while reading from ethertap device: File descriptor
in bad state"
Once I had this error and you advised me to recompile tinc, so I did it now,
but now it hasn't helped. So any help from you would be appreciated

NSS module
Does the wins libnss module not "work" yet, or am I misconfiguring it ?
Everything else in the whole samba/winbind realm works, I can log
in as a domain user using pam_winbind, smbclient can resolve netbios
names from WINS, etc etc. but 'ping NETBIOS_NAME' doesn't resolve.
Here's some background data:

Seperate servers for home directory space and logins
I'm trying to run the PDC for my domain on a seperate server from the
home directory space. Also, I want each user to be able to FTP in with
their domain username and password and access files in their home
directory and only -their- home directory.
It seems that I would need a seperate linux account for every user on
the home directory server in order to fulfill my FTP requirement. Then

Single shared directory, with a universal password
Hello,
I am using Samba "Version 2.2.3a-12 for Debian" on a Debian 3.0 system.
I have looked at lots of Samba documentation and have not been able to
find anything explaining what I need. I want to create a single directory
on my Samba server that is ok for any user (e.g. 'guest ok = yes'), but
is password protected. Meaning, I want a share that any user can access

Problem with pdf device.
Hi,
I seem to have broken the pdf device on my installation. I'm running R
1.6.1 under Apple's X11 on darwin 6.3. Running the following commands
straight after starting R (and without touching 'par') gives different
results - the png file looks fine but I'm missing axes and labels on
the pdf. If I try and print the pdf, axes and labels appear but with

Cox Regression : Spline Coefficient Interpretation?
Always reply to the list. I do not do private consulting.
(I have cc'ed this to the list).
I still think this belongs on stackexchange, not r-help. I think you need
to read up on the mathematics of spline bases.
