tinc vpn over http-tunnel
Hi Guus,
I?m using tinc since 1.0pre4 (and still use pre4) - it?s a great thing.
Since these day?s a part of my VPN relies on a http-tunnel (because you
used a single TCP connection as carrier). With 1.0pre4 that was very
easy to setup using the TCPonly setting.
But with 1.0pre5 it seems you changed the carrier connection setup, so
that my old setup didn?t work anymore. In the meantime you

tinc rel 1.0.1 gets aborted in OPENSSL call
Hallo,
I?m using tincd now since the old days of 1.0pre4 and ist pretty good
software.
Ths week I went to upgrade from 1.0pre7 to 1.0.1 and failed. The tincd
process gets aborted inside the libcrypto library with OPENSSL_assert
(inl >0).
Tracking down that problem I found, that the EVP_DecryptUpdate gets
called in meta.c with the last argument containing a negativ value
(lenin is -204).

HTB doesn''t give me the promised rate: cpufreq?
Hi all :)
I''ve been using a tc setup for almost two years, but at some point
(probably when I switched to kernel 2.6.x, but I''m not sure) it has
started making something very weird.
For a certain class, the rate is 125000bit and the ceil is
270000bit, but the fastest rate I get is about 75-80000bit, instead of
the "promised" 125000, *with no other traffic in

About "b" meaning "byte" and bit
Hi all :)
I think that this issue has already been discussed on this list, but
google didn''t find anything interesting, so I''m bringing the subject
again.
The output of "tc" uses "b" meaning "byte" and "bit" for "bit". The
"official" suffixes for those units are "B" and "b", respectively,

cpufreq affects rate in, at least, htb
Hi all :)
I''ve tested this and having a cpufreq that slows down the CPU
affects the rate of HTB. My ondemand cpufreq governor scales down the
CPU frequency about 40% and this is more or less the slowdown the rate
suffers, 40%.
Any known way of dealing with this without having to disable
cpufreq?
Thanks in advance :)

Http tunnel via a http proxy to another http proxy server
Hi All,
Is that possible create a http tunnel to remote http tunnel server via a
middle http proxy?
Here is my situation :
My Company only allow http protocol and they created a http proxy
server. So when we want to access internet we have to set the http proxy
settings for the browser or application.
Now I want to access outside without restrictions of http protocol and

SYSLINUX and local hard disk
Hello,
First, I'd like to say that this is an extremely useful piece of software -
thank-you very much!
I am working with couple of schools in my area, and using pxelinux and
syslinux for various things.
I find the functionality of pxelinux's localboot option to be extremely useful
- I force pxe boot, and then use pxelinux to let the user choose local boot
or remote boot. This is

make tc stop!
I want to stop shaping from running on my box, without rebooting it.
What''s the best way to get rid of any tc rules?
I have tried "tc qdisc del dev eth0 root" which appeared to be
successful but traffic through my box is still very slow.
Cheers,
Jonathan

Where do I post patches?
I have found a few bugs in tc, and have produced patches
for them. Two require changes to tc, one to the kernel.
Where should I post these patches?

about the traffic control
Hi, all:
I''m involved in the study about the QoS,but have some problems , hope
someone could help me answer:
1. Why most traffic shaping implement in the egress side (Uplink) rather
than the ingress side(Dnlink)?(e.g. why put the police rule on the smaller
bandwidth side but not put on the larger side)
2. I can''t differ the functionalities exactly

Syslinux with two-disk set (boot+root )
Hello there.
I use (and love!) your syslinux software - also pxelinux and soon isolinux.
I have been using it for build deployment purposes for some time now,
however I recently updated my kernel and added some additional drivers to
it, making it too large to fit on a floppy along with my ramdisk. This is
no problem for my PXE-enabled clients, of course, but for those machines
that do not

Questions about multiple Tinc daemons
Hi,
I have some questions about running multiple tinc deamons. The docs
say you can do it to support separate VPNs, but I don't see any
examples.
I have been running a single tinc vpn for months with no problems, now
I'm trying to add a second separate vpn. I'm running the static tinc
version 1.0pre7 (built Apr 9 2002 14:00:34, protocol 14) on Debian
potato. I did not want to go

Beste tinc-developer,

IPSec tunnel and routing
Hello.
I wonder how just correct couple of spdadd commands like
spdadd 192.168.1.0/24 192.168.2.0/24 any -P out ipsec esp/tunnel/10.1.0.1-10.2.0.1/require;
spdadd 192.168.2.0/24 192.168.1.0/24 any -P in ipsec esp/tunnel/10.2.0.1-10.1.0.1/require;
makes _routing_ of packets from 192.168.1/24 into 192.168.2/24.
If I understand correctly how it works on *BSD, these commands with

tinc version 1.0pre7 hangs
Hello,
I am running the staticly linked version, tinc version 1.0pre7 (built
Apr 9 2002 14:00:34, protocol 14) on four Debian potato systems. The
kernels are all 2.2.19. The vpn is set up as a star with one hub and
three spokes. The hub and one of the legs share the same ISP and are
on the same subnet. Both the other two legs are on different ISP's.
All the systems are running masquerading
