I''m attempting to setup Squid as shown on: http://shorewall.sourceforge.net/Shorewall_Squid_Usage.html#DMZ The firewall is a Bering 1.0 firewall running Shorewall 1.3.11, Red Hat 7.2 on the server in the DMZ. I''m not seeing the requests come in to the server using tcpdump. The server is 192.168.2.1 connecting to eth2 on the firewall, the local traffic I''m trying to

Samba seems to cause complete server crash
Hi all, I have done some extensive searching, and drawn a blank so far... Nothing odd is reported in samba logs, or in the syslog file. However, if I try to play an avi straight off the samba server, on an XP client with MP10, it brings the whole deal to its knees after a few mins at the most. I have to hard reset the server. Other than this, all my other uses are flawless (game server,

[Help] IMQ download traffic is duplicated !?
Hi, I have a default class for my un-marked traffic (prio 5) and a prio 0 class for the important stuff, but I do not understand why my download traffic is duplicated in both. It work fine for my upload traffic (same setting except the red class but I have the same result if I create an esfq instead). Any comments/information will be appreciated. Below my config : tc commands from my scirpt :

hopeless - smb over bridged firewall
Dear List! I use a shorewall 2.0.8 on a Debian sarge system. I use a DSL connection to the Internet (ppp0 - eth1 to the modem) and a bridge to the local lan. Iptables blocks out going connetion some times
Hi?guys. There is a wierd problem with iptables recently, hopes somebody can help me. I have installed Centos 7.2.1511 on a bare metal Dell server these days, disabled firewalld and enabled iptables.services, and setup a group of very simple rules, as the following: # iptables-save # Generated by iptables-save v1.4.21 on Tue Apr 23 09:15:14 2019 *filter :INPUT ACCEPT [0:0] :FORWARD ACCEPT

Port forwarding on Shorewall box behind NAT ADSL router
Hi, Before I go any further, I''m no networking expert, and the sheer volume of documentation on the Shorewall website makes my brain hurt.. Some time ago I moved from an area with cable internet to an ADSL only area. While on cable, I''d set up an old P3 box running Gentoo as a firewall/gateway/file server, running shorewall (currently v2.2.3) and dnsmasq. I''d

Shorewall and CUPS printing interference
I''m having a problem with the Shorewall firewall and CUPS printing interfering with each other. My Linux firewall machine is acting as both a CUPS server and client for all of my tests. Shorewall 2.0.13 CUPS 1.1.22-2 Linux kernel 2.6.9 CUPS was working fine to print to my Epson C84 (network connected via a Netgear PS101 print server using lpd://PS101.IP.address/raw ) until I

DHCP
Good day to all. I don''t like to Post unless I am really stuck. Guess what? Redhat with Shorewall. Been using this for years. I have a new client that we have setup with Redhat and Shorewall. The problem is that his outside address (ETH0 = NET) is dynamic (i.e. DHCP enabled). All the rules work fine when we use a STATIC address on Eth0, so we know the rules, filters, tos etc work fine

XP can browse samba by IP, but not by name - NMB issues?
I have an XP home (falcon) and an XP pro (tatooine) machine, both behind a rh9 box (hoth) acting as firewall. I've been trying to get samba set up on the linux box. I think I have it mostly working except that the XP boxes won't list hoth under "My Network Places - Microsoft Windows Network - MSHOME", and I cannot access hoth by name at all from the XP-pro box (by IP, I can

linux-ha heartbeat .. failover firewall
I have searched your FAQ''s and read the documentation on your site as well as googling. I am not able to figure this out. If you have any ideas can you please help. I am using the linux-ha failover with redundant firewalls. As part of the function of the linux-ha software consists a service called heartbeat which is a connection from each failover node through a serial cable or ethernet.

Yes, good point. I added the checking of prev_mode for Silk DTX to avoid using stale data from the Silk state. The PR is updated, and I'm attaching an updated patch. /Gustaf On Tue, 9 Apr 2019 at 12:42, Mark Harris <mark.hsj at gmail.com> wrote: > On 2019-04-08 4:55, Gustaf Ullberg wrote: > > Thank you Mark. > > > > I agree and have now updated the pull request

答复: Iptables blocks out going connetion some times
Hello, Stephen, thank you for input. Yes, these servers have the same firewall rules, and both of them have the same problem from time to time, most of time they are good. Actually, these servers are newly installed to be used as the Glusterfs storage server, so not much data flowing at this time. >From the sysctl output, I suppose it can't be a conntrack table overflow :

vpn-zone wide open
Hello! I am using shorewall shorewall-2.0.11-1 on fedora core2 (iptables-1.2.9-95.7). My box has 2 physical nic´s plus one virt. ipsec interface for a freeswan-vpn connection. A few days ago, portsentry spit out a lot of connections from windows clients (port 135, 445). Ooops. I review my shorewall settings but could not find a mistake. So I took a win-client and established a second

Hi All, I''m using iptables-1.2.7a on RedHat8 kernel 2.4.20. I wanted to limit the file-sharing traffic to the internet.
