WINS question
Hello
Have a trouble.
I have mashine with two interfaces.
Samba running at both with the same name of computer.
In wins-servers wins.dat i see next string:
"GRAND#20" 1044171787 192.168.1.1 192.168.2.1 46R
It's ok.
But for ALL mashines in any interfaces with any IP (192.168.1.X or 192.168.2.X)

'net rcp shudown' with mashine account (-n -P) possible???
Hello samba-list,
I'm able to shutdown remote mashines using:
supzli02pdc:~ # net rpc shutdown -S <target-pc> -U Administrator%<passwd> -r -t 1 --comment=Abmelden
I wounder if this is also possible with an mashine account auth (from the
PDC)? I couldn't get it to work:
supzli02pdc:~ # net -n supzli02pdc -P rpc shutdown -r -t 1 -S <target-pc> --comment=Abmelden

Configuration Trouble
I have succeeded in getting two tinc1.0pre3 hosts to connect, but I can't
ping one from the other. I can ping the local tap interfaces. tcpdump shows
that icmp echo requests are received by the other host, but no replies are
sent. The two hosts are North and South. It is the same pinging North to
South and South to North. The hosts are configured as follows:
South:

tincd running, but ping test doesn't work!
Hi Tinc Mailing Group,
I've got Tinc-1.0pre3 set up on two Redhat Linux 6.2 / kernel 2.2.18
servers. It compiles okay, it reads the configuration files okay, it
makes a valid connection between the two tincd daemons. However, it
does not route data from one subnet to the other subnet. I will
describe my setup below, and if anyone can suggest why it is not
working, can they please reply to put

Network Trash Folder - how to do it?
Hello,I saw on Apple mashines connected to AppleShare Server that they had
something called 'Network Trash Folder'. That is if some is working on a
server volume and deletes a file from the volume, the file appears in user's
Trash on his Desktop (but?it is really placed on the server in volume's
special folder called 'Network Trash Folder'). So he can restore the file if

start giving insted of only taking now :-) !
Hi Petr,
Yes, I have solved my general problems as follows:
First of all you have to check your firewall settings, because that was the
major problem on my system. On RH 7.2 the

txtProgressBar strange behavior in R 2.12.0
Hi,
I am running R 2.12.0 (windows).
example(txtProgressBar)
gives me some funny screen output with all kinds of special characters
appearing and disappearing. It's happening on two different mashines since
vs. 2.12.0. Is this a known issue?
Best,
Jalla

quality and delay test
It there avalible quality and delay test for sip connections for
asterisk. Something like to clients making a call with different codecs and
measuring delay , jitter ? I know there is a Astertest but in that you
need 2 asterisk mashines (which is usually hard to have).
I was looking for perl/bash scripts running sip clients in a finite
loop + etheral to measure packet properties , gathering logs.

1.0rc26: ssl_verify_client=yes ?
Q1)
I can't get ssl_verify_client_cert=yes working.
The ssl key and cert are signed using our CA.
Also the ssl_ca_file has a CRL appended (no revokes yet).
Expected behavior:
Stop the SSL (the client doesn't have a cert installed)
Current behavior:
Mail clients accepts SSL and login succeeds.
(both Evolution and Thunderbird).
My bad? Please advise.

Connection problem
I've got a test lab set up and im having problems connecting.
The first problem is that it takes it a couple of tries before it actually
connects the two machines.
It complains about bogus data and after trying for a minute or so it
connects.
kill -USR1 shows that they are connected
kill -USR2 only shows the local subnet, not the remote
I've tried these versions without any luck:

Dear Tinc Experts,
I have been struggling for some time now, with Tinc pre3, and firewall
rulesets and routing. I did once manage to get Tinc to work okay in a
test-bed environment. I then tried to set it up for a 'real-life'
setup and cannot get it to work properly.
My real-life setup looks like this:
Network A:

smbpasswd encryption (2.2.3a - RH 7.2 - kernel 2.4.7-10) Win2k
Hi listmembers,
due to a few very short but good tips from you guys and to much hassle with
my firewall (ipchains) I finally got samba running as a server and client (I
even made an update from source, just with normal ./configure, make, make
install after uninstalling the previous version of course).
With "encrypted passwords = no" everything is working fine (except for some

First of all, tinc should not have any problem handling mixed
endianness. Also, most ARM systems
