Almost working
Dev-Cpp is a IDE that can be used with MinGW and GCC but its causing problems. I installed MinGW since I am used to ./configure type builds but im unsure if this is a tinc issue or OpenSSL issue. I installed openssl 0.9.8e and I get to the following, $./configure ... checking openssl/evp.h usability... yes ... checking for openssl/engine.h... yes checking for SHA1_version in -lcrypto... no

OpenSSL compile problem
Hi, I'm using tinc for ~ 2 years now and I'm very happy with it (thanks to the makers - this is very good program to use). Anyway everytime I build I have this odd problem and until now I always found a way to solve it but now I'm really stuck. I'm trying to build tinc-pre7 and I always reach to this error on configure: --------------------- checking for RAND_pseudo_bytes... no

Password authentication problems
I'm having a problem getting OpenSSH to correctly authenticate passwords. I'm doing authentication against a shadow file (/etc/shadow) because I don't have PAM installed. I'm using Slackware 7.0, OpenSSH 1.2.3, OpenSSL 0.95a, and glibc with the crypt addon. Here is the funny thing about it though. I edited the file that has the code for authenication (auth-password.c I think,

Trouble with Tinc at make level
Hello, I'm sorry to post this seemingly quite mundane issue, but I just do not find what's wrong with what i did... please help. Basically typing the make command returns a message in french (that one is normal) that says that no goals and no rules were specified. I realize it's a typical make error message but I don't see/am not familiar enough with the output of ./configure to

1.0pre3 difficulties
Was running 1.0pre2 just fine, but had to move machines, so I figgured I'd give 1.0pre3 a try. After getting everything to build and figguring out the new config files, here's where I'm stuck. Start the server process (remote machine). Start the client process (local machine). In remote machine, the following shows up in syslog: tinc[2659]: Got SEGV signal In local machine, the

[LLVMdev] Recharging the batteries
Hi, I've noticed that http://llvm.org/status/ hasn't been updated for a while, so I tought that some of you might find the following information interesting and/or encouraging... For benchmarking the stuff I'm working on I needed to compile a number of open-source packages. The settings I used: AS=llvm-as lLD=llvm-ld AR=llvm-ar CXX=llvm-g++ CC=llvm-gcc CFLAGS="-g

can't get tinc to compile..
Hi Tinc Mailing Group, I've been trying for some days now, to get tinc up and running. Could someone please suggest what I could do to get it working. I've installed Redhat 6.2 onto a pc, and then installed the latest 2.2 kernel: 2.2.18 from source code (The usual make menuconfig ; make dep ; make bzImage , etc). I've followed the tinc instructions for adding the

questions
Hello, I have a bunch of questions about configuring tinc. Here we go: 1. Is the /etc/tinc/vpn/passphrases directory still used? If so, what is it for? Do we need to create it when installing tinc from source? 2. As far as I understand, MyVirtualIP is not required in tinc.conf and is only used to pass the IP to tinc-* scripts. Is that correct? If so, how can we use it? I could not find much

TINC and REDHAT
G'day, I've just downloaded the tinc-1.0pre3 and compiled it - it seems to work fine. I tried your tinc start script in the redhat directory, first adding the MyOwnVPNIP = 10.1.3.1/16 VpnMask = 255.255.0.0 to my tinc.conf file as suggested. But now when TINC is invoked, tinc exits with the following error. [root@platypus tinc-1.0pre3]# /usr/local/sbin/tincd -n wurley.vpn Failed to

OpenBSD 3.2 and Release 1
I got the file that was sent to me the other day. Unfortunitly it did not solve my problems. After a lot of hacking I have been able to get release 1.0 to almost compile. I have finally gotten all of the dependancies worked out under OpenBSD 3.2. This next error has me stumped. I can tell that it is looking for a file but have no idea how to create the file. This is the output of the the
