Network confusion
Whens the point and click GUI coming out? All kidding aside, I seem to be confused about some of the network settings. Essentially all I want is a secure tunnel from machine A to B on two different physical networks, but I can't seem to get there. Just to get things figured out I've got two machines on the same physical network, mach A: 192.168.0.1, mach B: 192.168.0.3. bcast is

Dynamic forking in Win32
I created an application that uses dynamic forking and it works perfect in windows, but fails in wine. Is this a bug or is this feature disabled in Wine? I don't have wine myself but someone we have testing the app for us does. It's difficult to debug over the net so I was hoping for some help here... After adding some debug info we've traced a few failure points to a call to

Problems with tinc configure with gmp 3.0.1
I can't get tinc to complete the configure script. It can't find the gmp 3.0.1 libraries even though they are installed. I saw a fix mentioned in the list archives, but it didn't work. Can anyone else help me out? Thanks John - Tinc: Discussion list about the tinc VPN daemon Archive: http://mail.nl.linux.org/lists/ Tinc site: http://ftp.nl.linux.org/pub/linux/tinc/

Configuration Trouble
I have succeeded in getting two tinc1.0pre3 hosts to connect, but I can't ping one from the other. I can ping the local tap interfaces. tcpdump shows that icmp echo requests are received by the other host, but no replies are sent. The two hosts are North and South. It is the same pinging North to South and South to North. The hosts are configured as follows: South: Debian 2.2

winbind and pptpd authentication failure
Hi all I'm not sure whether to go to the ppp lists for this, or the samba lists. I thought I'd try here first. I have a linux firewall using winbind to authenticate users coming in with PPTP. It all seemed to work OK at first. After a while I noticed that authentication was denied to users who had previously (as in less than a day) authenticated successfully. After a day or so of

Massive confusion
I'm probably thinking way too hard on this... but I've already got a headache. I've setting up a VPN for a client between two sites. Someone had recommended vtun, so I gave it a try. I was VERY put off by the lack of decent documentation. I _think_ I got a VPN set up between the two sites, but it wasn't working right and I gave up because the documentation sucked. So, then I

Regression of 5616?
I'm wondering if I'm seeing a regression of 5616 with 3.4.8. I'm trying to set-up pptpd with winbind, which I'm doing on two machines on Debian lenny, and I'm trying on Debian Squeeze now. The Windows client is saying "Error 778: It was not possible to verify the identity of the server." The logs say that everything is ok, and that the client is hanging up the

1.0pre3 difficulties
Was running 1.0pre2 just fine, but had to move machines, so I figgured I'd give 1.0pre3 a try. After getting everything to build and figguring out the new config files, here's where I'm stuck. Start the server process (remote machine). Start the client process (local machine). In remote machine, the following shows up in syslog: tinc[2659]: Got SEGV signal In local machine, the

can't get tinc to compile..
Hi Tinc Mailing Group, I've been trying for some days now, to get tinc up and running. Could someone please suggest what I could do to get it working. I've installed Redhat 6.2 onto a pc, and then installed the latest 2.2 kernel: 2.2.18 from source code (The usual make menuconfig ; make dep ; make bzImage , etc). I've followed the tinc instructions for adding the
