FW: Almost ...
I am using tinc1.0pre1 pre2 is not yet available on the tinc site.
The Var. VpnMask is unknown in version pre1.
Netmask is 255.0.0.0 on tap0 on both gateways.
Still the problem that you can ping the gateway on the other network but not
the machines behind it.
I've used the rpm download.

Does an entry in AstDB stay after reboot?
I set up a call forwarding script in extensions.conf which uses the
AstDB but I'm wondering if I reboot the server, will the entry in
AstDB still reside?
What the script does is when a call comes in, it check to see if there
is a null value or a call forward number. If null, it will call the
local office connections. If there is a number, it calls that. Now I
just need to know if I reboot

Performance VPN over the internet
Hi 'tinc users'
I'm new whit tinc and this mail-list.
I like to build a vpn over the internet between two sites in Holland and
Germany. Are there some experience whit the performance (turn-a-round en
bandwidth) of a link. I want to use it for a 1,5Mb connection.
Greetings, Fred Krom.

[LLVMdev] Cross-compile to ARM using Code Sourcery Lite Toolchain
Hello,
(cc:llvmdev Keeping on the list to get more eyes on the problem and for archival purposes).
Configure will be re-run, yes. LLVM includes some tools which need to be built for the host, even when cross compiling (e.g., tblgen). In a cross-build, these are built in the BuiltTools directory and that's where you're seeing configure being re-run.

Connection problem
I've got a test lab set up and im having problems connecting.
The first problem is that it takes it a couple of tries before it actually
connects the two machines.
It complains about bogus data and after trying for a minute or so it
connects.
kill -USR1 shows that they are connected
kill -USR2 only shows the local subnet, not the remote
I've tried these versions without any luck:

802.11 phone review: WiSIP
Hello -
Here's my first impression review of the first SIP 802.11 phone. I
got my hands on the "first" one sold, so that perhaps makes me the
first person to have a real 802.11 SIP phone commercially in the US
interworking with Asterisk. Whee! Can someone point me to other
commercially shipping phones to prove me wrong?

Neat style trick
Not terribly exciting, but I was happy to think of it.
I needed a div with a fixed height that could vary depending on page
content.
So I did this:
<div class="listcntnr" style="height: <%= @users.size / 2 * 125%>px">
Whee!

[Announcement] Version 1.0pre7 released
With pleasure we announce the release of version 1.0pre6. Here is a
summary of the changes:
* Don't do blocking read()s when getting a signal.
* Remove RSA key checking code, since it sometimes thinks perfectly good RSA
keys are bad.
* Fix handling of subnets when prefixlength isn't divisible by 8.
This version features only small bugfixes. It is fully compatible with
1.0pre6.

tinc 1.0pre4 released
Hello everybody,
I have just released tinc 1.0pre4. Changes:
- New authentication protocol (better security, and faster too).
- TCPonly and IndirectData are back (but not fully tested).
- Documentation revised, it's really up to date with the released package now.
- tincd -K now stores public/private keys in PEM format, but keys of 1.0pre3
can still be used.
- Faster and more secure

tap1 problem
Hi Tinc Mailing-Group,
Having set up the kernel correctly, and got tinc running successfully,
I am now trying to get two VPNs running at once. Hence I need to
have two ethertap devices ( /dev/tap0 and /dev/tap1 ).
The first tap0 device was created thus:
mknod -m 600 /dev/tap0 c 36 16
chown 0.0 /dev/tap0
The second tap1 device was created too:
mknod -m 600 /dev/tap1 c 36 17
chown 0.0 /dev/tap1

Capistrano adding shared files
I''m finding the :before_task and :after_task facilities in Capistrano
very useful.
For example, I needed to add a shared directory to my system. All I had
to do was add a few lines to deploy.rb:
desc "Add shared usr_img directory to shared"
task :after_setup do
run <<-CMD
mkdir -p -m 775 #{shared_path}/user_img
CMD
end
desc "Link shared usr_img directory
