FW: Almost ...
I am using tinc1.0pre1 pre2 is not yet available on the tinc site. The Var. VpnMask is unknown in version pre1. Netmask is 255.0.0.0 on tap0 on both gateways. Still the problem that you can ping the gateway on the other network but not the machines behind it. I've used the rpm download. -----Original Message----- From: Guus Sliepen [mailto:guus@warande3094.warande.uu.nl] Sent: Wednesday, May

Problems starting up tincd with startupscript 1.0pre2-1.i386.rpm
Hello, I'm trying to set up a vpn using tinc, so I installed tinc with the rpm version on my firewall as a listener. Setting up the tap device is no problem. The file /etc/tinc/tinc.conf looks like: TapDevice = /dev/tap0 MyVirtualIP = 192.168.2.1/24 Vpnmask = 255.255.255.0 When I start the script /etc/rc.d/init.d/tinc start it says something about missing /etc/tinc/nets.boot

deleting tc rules
Hi I''m doing traffic shaping with tc on ''10.0.0.0/30'' and ''10.0.0.28/30''. I want to delete part of shaping rules on the fly. (see my configuration at the end of this mail) I wan''t to delete the shaping for ''10.0.0.0/30'' on the fly while still keeping the shaping for part ''10.0.0.28/30'' running. When I for

tinc SECURITY INFORMATION - Unauthorized access to VPN
Although we (the authors of tinc) have done our best to make tinc as secure as possible, an unfortunate combination of encryption and key exchange techniques has created a hole in at least all versions of tinc >= 0.3, including the current CVS version. Bizarre Networking
Hi, I''ve bit the bullet and gone with Xen, but I get some odd networking. Basically, this was the original idea. eth0 external eth1 internal create bridge br0 for eth0 create bridge br1 for eth1 Strip IP addresses for eth0 and eth1 and assign to br0 and br1 respectively. Worked great in a non-xen kernel under Fedora 8 in KVM/Qemu. Booting into Xen, my eth1 becomes eth2, I also get

Distribute rebalance issues
Hi, I have a rebalance that has failed on one peer twice now. Rebalance logs below (directories anonomised and some irrelevant log lines cut). It looks like it loses connection to the brick, but immediately stops the rebalance on that peer instead of waiting for reconnection - which happens a second or so later. Is this normal behaviour? So far it has been the same server and the same (remote)

Configuration Issues
Hi Folks, I am a Samba newbie and needed some assistance with my configuration. I am trying to run Samba 2.2.2 (on Solaris 8 Intel Version) downloaded from Sunfreeware.com and have a Windows 2000 Professional box. I believed I followed the directions in SAMBA-How-To carefully but cannot get connection from a DOS prompt. When I run the command below from my UNIX box, here is what I get: The

nfs, 64 / 32 bit, locking problem
Well, next problem. Because of samba isn't running on alphaserver 1200 with gentoo linux and kernel 2.6.9-ac12 i've simply exported my smbroot (on alpha, it is my fileserver) and have samba running on an intel pentium4 box, also gentoo, kernel 2.6.0-ac12. Seems to work, eccept some locking problems. smbd[9450]: [2005/02/08 17:29:51, 0] locking/posix.c:posix_fcntl_lock(657) smbd[9450]:

Distribute rebalance issues
Nithya, Is there any way to increase the logging level of the brick? There is nothing obvious (to me) in the log (see below for the same time period as the latest rebalance failure). This is the only brick on that server that has disconnects like this. Dom0 cannot see network when bridge is enabled
I''ve seen a lot of threads w/ similar problems, but none have posted a resolution. I am using Debian 4.0r1 (Etch). I was using the xen packages from stable, but have tried w/ testing as well and the problem persists. http://pastie.caboo.se/95144 Host is 10.0.0.20 on network 10.0.0.0/24. Dom0 is thus 10.0.0.20 DomU is 10.0.0.30 When the bridge is enabled, DomU can ping everything.

openssh 3.9p1 problems on big-endian ARM platform
(please CC, I'm not on the list.) Hi all, I'm having some trouble with openssh 3.9p1 on a big-endian ARM platform. Everything appears to build and run okay, but I can only shell to the box itself or to other big-endian ARM boxes. Shelling to an x86 box gives me: Disconnecting: Corrupted MAC on input. and shelling from an x86 to the ARM gives me the same message. What's odd is
