Play CD!
MP3s have to use constant bitrate not variable bit rate. Look in the documentation for mpg123.

Multiple Workgroups and Subnets
Hi,
I am configuring a network with two subnets with a different workgroup
in each subnet. My aim is to have users being able to view and access
shares on both workgroups. I have a Samba server in each
subnet/workgroup, configured as both the domain and local master for
each workgroup. Each server is also the WINS server for its subnet. The
setup is like this:

IPSec tunnel
Hi!
I''m testing IPSec tunnels, having the following test schemma:
Host A - eth0: 192.168.1.67
eth1: 192.168.10.1
Host B - eth0: 192.168.1.254
eth1: 192.168.20.1
I''ve succesfully configured an IPSec tunnel in order to safely
communicate from 192.168.10.0/24 (which is obviously behind Host A), and
192.168.20.0/24 (obviously behind Host B)
In this test

lurked on this list for a while.... I still seem to be missing a few key
ideas here.... So... Maybe folks on the list will be kind enough to help.
I have two different ISPs. Cogent and Bell. I have three different
firewalls (2 PIX and 1 IPCop). And I have an Ubuntu Linux box doing LARTC

virtual interfaces
I have CentOS 4 running on an old (early model) p3 with 64 MB RAM. It
is acting as a router and firewall for my LAN.
CentOS is doing a really good job with Shorewall + DHCPd - on a 10 Mbps
cable modem, I see ~ 9.7 Mbps of throughput even when numerous tcp
streams to different LAN hosts are running.
I would like to add a virtual interface to one of my LAN interfaces.

OpenVPN routing question
Hello all,
Let's say I have an OpenVPN (v2) server sitting on a Linux machine with the
IP address of, say, 192.168.10.1o. We are talking real address, assigned to
a NIC on the machine.
Now let us say the OpenVPN server hands out IP's in the
192.168.20.0/24range. And let us say that I want the machines able to
reach the VPN server
to be able to route to the machines available via the VPN.

A VPN is switched mode
Hi all,
I have been using tinc successfully for a while now.
However, I need to do something different from my normal setup, and i am
getting the feeling I am doing something obvious wrong.
What I want to do is hookup 5 distant linux routers into one bigger
network, Since I need to transmit both unicast and multicast traffic,
the VPN network has to be in "Mode = switch" [Assumption

Blank Voicemails
Hi, we're running Asterisk 1.2.10 and have been randomly being left
blank voicemails with long messages that we can't hear.
I've searched and searched but cannot find a solution.
This is what happens:
Internal Server runs Asterisk 1.2.10 where our mailboxes are
Incoming Server (behind a firewall) runs Asterisk 1.2.13 and calls are
bridged between this server and our internal server.

it seems to be working just dandy except for one small problem. A little

Cross-VPN Browsing
Hey all,
I'm having a bit of a problem with cross-subnet browsing where one of
the subnets is managed by an OpenVPN server.
My network is set up with a central wireless router running OpenWRT.
192.168.10.x is the subnet for wired hosts and 192.168.20.x is the
subnet for wireless hosts. To allow cross-subnet browsing, the OpenWRT
router is running as a WINS server (samba).
Now, I've

Host unspecified ??
Dear,
When I start asterisk -vvvvvvgrc and I ask 'sip show peers', I don't get the ip adress in the 'Host" field.
Name = phone1 and phone2
Host=unspecified
mask 255.255.255.255
port = 0
status = unmonitored
I can ping the two phone's and get a reply (also from the laptop)
phone ip adres 192.168.10.12 and 192.168.10.13 (server 192.168.10.11and laptop 192.168.10.14)

Hi list,
I use Samba 3.0.24 on Etch.
I want to connect to my Samba share trough routed vpn.
Samba server works well from the lan, and my openvpn works fine.
But something is strange ...

hosts deny = 0.0.0.0/0
bind interfaces only = yes
