Cydia packages for tinc
Hello,
Mike Bentzen has created Cydia packages for tinc. This allows you to easily
install tinc on your jailbroken iOS devices (iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch).
Packages for both version 1.0.21 and 1.1pre7 are available. His repository is
here:
http://mike.bentzen.com.au/tinc/
But you can also download them from the tinc website:

tinc on macosx
Hi,
I have macosx 10.5.8 and Tunnelblick (openvpn) installed before.
I have installed tinc using port and got version 1.0.11 (Jun 29 2010
15:10:51)
now I have 2 problems:
1) the interface variable from the tinc.conf is not used, instead I have a
tun0 interface (or tap0).
2) the tinc-up script seems to be fired too early as I get an
error: ifconfig: interface /dev/tap0 does not exist
when I run

Multicast over Tinc
Would it be extremely difficult to do multicast over tinc?
How about reliable multicast over tinc?
This would be more traffic than multicast dns, but not _necessarily_
a great deal more.
It would be for syncing some information among freeipa domain controllers.
Would the tinc nodes need to be in all in switch or maybe even hub mode?

Tinc GUI Frontend?
Tinc looks like a wonderful VPN tool, potentially a great alternative to
the zero-configuration Hamachi and similar services. Tunngle, NeoRouter,
Remobo and Comodo EasyVPN are also in the zero-configuration LAN VPN
category.
But none come close to the freedom, flexibility and security of Tinc. If
only Tinc had a GUI or even a command line configuration tool to
generate and manage the Tinc

Issue using tinc-vpn on Windows Server 1709 with Docker Overlay Network
I've not had success with using tinc and docker together. I came up against similar problems. Docker iptables in Linux seem quite complicated as well, messing with the network stack.
I've seen a few tinc docker images that run tinc as a container - I haven't tried this.
Please let us know if you do actually get it working - im very interested to know.

Re: Is it possible to block ipv6 auto configuration entering the tinc tunnel?
hi
It was not working when i applied the rules on the vpn card. But I wondered if maybe bridging of vpn and eth0 was messing this up. I thought it was enough to only apply it to the vpn card
root at JOTVPN:~# brctl show
bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces
bridge 8000.000c29638a7e no eth0

Hi
thank you for looking in to this. I haven't tried it before now. I cant get it to work.
after running the commands you suggest I get this when I run ip6tables --list-rules
root at JOTVPN:~# ip6tables --list-rules
-P INPUT ACCEPT
-P FORWARD ACCEPT
-P OUTPUT ACCEPT
-A FORWARD -i vpn -p ipv6-icmp -m icmp6 --icmpv6-type 133 -j DROP

Is it possible to block ipv6 auto configuration entering the tinc tunnel?

The isp is using auto configuration to give out ipv6 addresses. The problem is that every computer in my bridged network is getting ipv6 addresses from that node.

[Announcement] Tinc version 1.1pre12 released
Guus:
Great job.
I would love to see a library version of Tinc for linux.
Kind of like an API instead of configuration files.
Don't have time right now, but maybe one day I will re-factor the code
for library orientation.
It would have a single unix socket with a JSON API.
I use Tinc on linux Ubuntu 15.10 x64 for all my vpn stuff.
It allows Elastic Search and RethinkDB to survive in the

tinc on macosx
Hi,
So I bought a new macbook 2 days ago. I already feel like I'm going to
break it somehow.
I am kind of surprised that there is no kind of package management system
like dpkg being used. Anyway..
Looking at the macosx tinc wiki page on tinc-vpn.org, and it seems to be
somewhat incomplete.
I have a few questions. I installed the tuntaposx driver and set up the
machine to connect to the

How does tinc server handle the case one client's key file is removed after connection
Thanks Guus for the quick answer, I will give a try now.
Рысь,
In my case we don't want to restart tinc "server" at all, therefore what
might
happen is that the client is still connected to server while its public key
was already
removed from server.
I will try the signal approach.

Packet capture to analysis the tinc connection close
Earlier, my tinc topology is this: https://ibb.co/bP1EJa <https://ibb.co/bP1EJa>, let me explain a little bit:
client configuration:
Name = client
AddressFamily = ipv4
ProcessPriority = high
PingTimeout = 10
TunnelServer = yes
1. All tinc nodes configured with “IndirectData = yes”, and the lines shown on the picture with arrow means the directional “ConnectTo”, so all the tinc traffic will

Would it not make more sense to have this on packagers responsiblity
instead like you were saying adding it into the upstream repo.
Maybe have a secondary repo that people can contribute to for distribution
specific files and install scripts.

Firewall rules for TINC server
Thanks for the answer Guus,
One more thing. I can run two tinc daemons one for each group, but I sill
need to communicate clients from one group to the other.
Clients from group 2 (admin group) need to reach clients from group 1
(remote server group), but clients from group 1 must not be able to reach
each other nor the server.
If I'm not using TunnelServer and Forwarding, How can I setup
