Compiling problem on Ubuntu 9.10 64 bit
Hello,
I''m trying to compile wxruby for Ruby 1.9 on Ubuntu Karmic 64 bit, but I
can''t get it to work. I''ve already done this for the 32 bit version (on
another machine, of course), so I don''t see where''s the problem with
that. I thought, I had all neccessary libraries installed, but maybe you
know better... After compiling for a long time, rake fails

Running code after a modal dialog is shown
Hi all,
I''m looking for a way to get a block of code to execute once a modal
dialog has been displayed (via a call to show_modal.) I was hoping to
find some event that would fire when the window was shown, but the only
one that seemed vaguely promising (evt_window_create) seems to do nothing
at all, at least in my environment (Ruby 1.9.1 on Win32, wxruby 2.0.1.)
Here''s a

revised get_client_data patch
Here''s a revised patch for fixing get_client_data. It tackles the
serious problem with the previous patch (segfault on exit) and makes the
key bit of code available for sharing with other ControlWithItems
classes. So it''s a candidate for applying. If it works I''ll add to other
relevant places, like ListCtrl and ComboBox.
The tricky part was detecting whether a

where is destructors?
Hello, wxruby-users.
I`m noticed huge GDI resources leakage when working with my programs
(on windows). Fortunately, i simple fix this by calling ''delete'' on
wxBitmap object (patch bellow). But i`m wondering -- why there are no
calls to destructors of wrapped wxwidgets objects in wxruby? Is there
some problems?
This is a patch:

CheckListBox : delete method bug !
Hi,
I''ve practically finished a patch for removing the limitation of
CheckListBox (http://rubyforge.org/pipermail/wxruby-development/2007-October/000973.html)
but I just discovered a new bug related with this control !!
I need to redefine the delete method to take into account the deletion
of the associated data. The problem is that if I just redefine this
method and simply call super,

Wx::Scintilla - working
At last, managed to get Scintilla up and running on OS X. Sorry it''s
taken so long.
Patch attached to enable Scintilla to be included in a Mac build.
More difficult was how figuring out how to get wxscintilla built in the
first place - have added instructions on our ''Building for release'' page

Alex: Any idea why the list is still bouncing these?
"noreply at rubyforge.org" is in the list of addresses that are supposed to
be allowed to post even though not subscribed. What is that about
"Message has implicit destination"???

1.9.5 Release
Hey Alex and Sean,
It looks like it is getting to be that time again for a new release. What
are we looking at for the release time frame? I''m working still on the
wxSDL type library for wxSugar, as I think this would be a great thing to
create a Library for, to incorporate SDL into wxRuby. I''m already looking
at creating Wx::SDLPanel, which will be the equivalent of
