S-Plus compatability...
Dear all, I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to solve a problem I've encountered. I have a set of S-plus scripts which call an external program to analyse the data (the external program is called Genehunter and is used for genetic analysis). There are a six scripts in total, five of which are called from the main script. I made a few changes like changing

More info - S-Plus compatability
Dear all, Thanks to those of you who have replied, the majority of the comments pointed out that the error caused by scan may originate from another function, and closer inspection of the output from traceback() reveals that it is in fact the read.table function where the error is originating from the full output of which I have included below. The error msg I recieve is Error in

Need help with reduced row echelon form
Hello I have a 3x3 matrix (A), which I would have to reduce to Reduced Row echelon form.  Besides, at every iteration k, the elementary row matrix Ek has to be printed and also print the product of sum Ei (i=1 to k) and A. Any ideas how to go about doing this. KS. [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Row-Echelon Form
I was looking for an R-package that would reduce matrices to row-echelon form, but Google was not my friend; any leads? If not, I wonder if the problem could be expressed in terms of constraint satisfaction...

[mh@designassembly.de: [Vtun] Windows port]
Just spotted this on the VTun mailing list. Might be interesting, if there were a TUN/TAP driver for windows it would be a lot easier to make a M$ port of tinc. Not that I feel much motivation to do so... ----- Forwarded message from Michael Heyse <mh@designassembly.de> ----- From: "Michael Heyse" <mh@designassembly.de> To: "VTun mailing list"

No DESTDIR in po makefiles
Hi, The Makefiles in the tinc/po dir don't respect the DESTDIR environment variable. This prohibits rpm packages from installing the l10n files. The debian package tools don't have that problem as they chroot. When building rpms, the l10n files get installed into the real root - not very nice. I don't know how to edit the Makefile.in.in files, I can find out but it'd be nicer if

Authentication scheme
Hello everybody, Here are some thoughts about the authentication scheme to be used in tinc. The current scheme (see CVS version, revision CABAL) does this: Client Server --------------------------------------- send_id(u) send_challenge(R) send_chal_reply(H) send_id(u) send_challenge(R)

row echelon form
Hi everyone, I am looking to use R as a MATLAB replacement for linear algebra. I've done a fairly good job for finding replacements for most of the functions I'm interested in, I John Fox wrote a program for implementing the reduced row echelon form of a matrix (by doing the Gauss-Jordan elimination). I modified it a bit: rref <- function(A,

Permissions with CD's Copied from Win
I've recently installed a new server here. This is my first Samba install so I'm a newbie. We are using RH9 and Samba 2.2.7a. Everything with the transition from the old server to the new went great. I do seem to have one little bug though that I've been unable to work out. If one of the users copies the contents of a CD to the server the permissions for the folder and files copied are
