tinc
Hello Mike, <mikef> hi. I installed tinc.rpm to two servers (both of which are acting as firewalls) <mikef> they can connect to each other successfully according to /var/log/messages, but I can't get traffic to move across it <mikef> anybody have any ideas? It's probably something with wrong settings for Virtual IP's and/or routing. Could you please

[Announcement] Version 1.0pre3 released
After many months of work, it's finally there: tinc 1.0pre3. Here is a summary of the changes: * The protocol has been redesigned, and although some details are still under discussion, this is secure. Care has been taken to resist most, if not all, attacks. * Unfortunately this protocol is not compatible with earlier versions, nor are earlier versions compatible with this version.

10th anniversary of tinc 1.0
Hello everyone, Today is exactly 10 years ago that tinc 1.0 was released. I would have hoped to celebrate this by releasing 1.0.22 and 1.1pre8 today, but this will instead happen in one week. Tinc 1.1 is close to becoming stable, and I hope to release 1.1.0 before the end of the year. The main features of tinc 1.1 are the improved security over tinc 1.0, and a much nicer interface that makes it

compiling & installing R devel version on Debian
Hi all. I'm compiling the devel version of R on Debian GNU/Linux, and installing it into /usr/local tree (instead of default /usr). So: ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/ make make install Everything works fine, but when I start R I get the following error messages (traslated from italian, sorry): Error in dyn.load(x,as.logical(local),as.logical(now)): impossible to load the shared

[URGENT] tinc has a security hole of about 50 million km^2
Sending your passphrase encrypted is all fine, but tinc sends the key with which it was encrypted about a second later... Anyone being able to intercept these two requests is authorized on the VPN. Hi, Could somebody points me to some .ogg test files in mono or with more than 2 channels? I am also looking for info on how channels are positionned so than I can remap them for 2 channels only environments. tinc 1.0pre1
Hi all, I just uploaded tinc 1.0pre1 to the server. I included and rpm, which has been made possible by the work of Lubom?r Bulej and Mads Kiilerich. Please test this version, so that any bugs left can be squished before 1.0 gets final. Also be aware that this version includes a new version of the protocol, and is thus NOT compatible with the protocol that 0.3 uses. Thanks for flying tinc.

R 2.7.[01] on Windows in Korean
We've seen a few reports on problems in R 2.7.[01] on Windows in Korean. It does work on my laptop, but I've managed to reproduce this on a WinXP desktop: it seems the problem lies in the encoding of the translations of the menus, and might be a problem in the updated iconv used. Workarounds: 1) Add LANGUAGE=en to the shortcut used to start RGui: then all messages will be in English.

All the following is on my work computer. Thanks in advance for any help. $ ifconfig eth0 eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:1A:A0:17:3A:50 inet addr:172.24.104.145

Status of tinc, and release plans for 1.0 and further.
Hi all, It seemed like a good idea to post updates here every now and then about the progress of the development of tinc. Right now, we're mainly hunting bugs. While doing this, we stumbled upon some shortcomings of the meta protocol, possibly dangerous. So Guus and I are now working on a new protocol, which will be incompatible with the standing 0.3 protocol (version 4). Whether or not
