IPv6 docs, howtos, descriptions
I know...google...BUT:
Does someone has good howtos, docs, descriptions, opinions in forums, or
similar things about IPv6 and "related things"?
I just think it would be a very good idea to collect some links about it...
Regards, and thank you in anticipation

Max hard disks supported by XCP 1.6
Hello,
I would like to use nas4free under xcp 1.6.
I install it under full HVM using "other install media".
Now I am attaching 4 hdds as external disks.
The vm sees at most two hdds, I suppose because of bios
support (1 boot + 1 cdrom + 2 hdds= 4 hdds).
I need to use more disks, is it possible?
If not, it seems to me a serious limit.

myself about the OpenBuildService project which was initialized by OpenSUSE.
Now I am really interested in setting up an OpenBuildService VM where I can
package some programs and so on for example own software and software I
wan''t to use on a few systems which have for example newer versions

NFS vs SMb vs iSCSI for remote backup mounts
Hi,
I would like to get some input from people who have used these options for
mounting a remote server to a local server. Basically, I need to replicate /
backup data from one server to another, but over the internet (i.e. insecure
channels)
Currently we have been mounting an SMB share over SSH, but it's got it's own
set of problems. And I don't know if this is optimal, or if I

What on Centos is wiping out my eth0 IP address every 5 minutes?
QUESTION:
Why does my Centos 6.4 laptop keep wiping out my eth0 IP address?
SUMMARY:
a) I set the IP address of eth0
b) Everything works fine for 2 to 5 minutes
c) Then, that eth0 IP address is (somehow?) wiped out
I frustratingly repeat that abc process (over and over and over again)

CentOS in low RAM settings
Hello listmates,
I have been playing with Xen VM's and was wondering what the minimum
RAM size in which you could run CentOS 5.5 (i386). So far I managed to
install in 256 MB or 512 MB and then shrink the VM's RAM to 128 MB and
still run the installation. Would anyone know why the install in a 128
MB VM fails (even in text mode)?
Thanks.

web collaboration packages.
Hello All,
Try as I might, I cannot get Zimbra 8.0.3 to install on CentOS 6.4, even
with --platform override. I followed some tutorials even that show the
result working and nada.
Can anyone suggest a good setup for e-mails erving, calendaring, web mail?
Web mail is particularly important for my wife so she can check e-mail when
she is at work.

The moving of VNC port from 580n to 590n
On my 'older' systems that include Centos 5.5 and Fedora 12, vncserver
is running on ports 580n where n is defined by userid in the
/etc/sysconfig/vncserver
I just spent a bit of time getting it working on my new Centos 6.3
server and found it listening on ports 590n.
When did the change occur?
And guess I should test out where it is on Fedora 17...

Installing an SSL Cert
HI All,
I am considering buying this:
http://www.godaddy.com/Compare/gdcompare_ssl.aspx?isc=sslqgo003a
Since I have a domain that will be collecting data and processing payments.
Where can I find instructions on how to install the certificate?
Do I have to run another domain or sub domain for the store? Or can I just run the whole domain on https?
Thanks,
-Jason

Running Xen over NFSv3
Does anyone, is anyone running Xen on NFSv3 successfully?
What are some of your pain points/success points?
Have you tried a clustered file system with better results such as DRBD or GFS?

Matt

2way authentication for SSH?
Hi,
Does anyone know of a stable / working "2way authentication" system for
SSH, and even web authentication services?
Most of the banks in South Africa have a system that, when you want to make
a payment, they send you an SMS and you need to verify the action with a
secret code which was SMS'd to you. gmail also has this.
Does anyone know of a "universal" plugin /

Certificate system
Hi all,
Can anybody inform me wether the "RedHat Certificate System" or
actually a CentOS equivalent is available for CentOS.
Just skimmed on a download site through the RPM's for 5.3 and I couldn't
find it.
According to their pressrelease, it the code should be gpl, allthough I
can't find any rpm for RH, FC or Centos.
It seems that this is one of the few CA-packages for

Hi,
I am running a VOIP application on Centos 5.3. It is a 16 core box

all eth0 is used up and no more traffic can go through.
I have checked google and it talked about interrupt scheduler.
does anyone know how to configure the kernel to allow it to use all

protecting multiuser systems from bruteforce ssh attacks
Hello,
What is the best way to protect multiuser systems from brute force
attacks? I am setting up a relatively loose DenyHosts policy, but I
like the idea of locking an account for a time if too many attempts
are made, but to balance this with keeping the user from making a
helpdesk call.
What are some policies/techniques that have worked for this list with
minimal hassle?
Thanks!

using Linux as a NAS / SAN device
Hi,
I'm looking at using Linux as a NAS / SAN device, and would like some
input from other's who have done this before?
How would it compare to commercial SAN devices, Thecus N8800SAS
(http://www.thecus.com/products_over.php?cid=11&pid=177&set_language=english)
or something similar to these?
I would probably use hardware RAID 10, and could go with either SAS /
SATA, and then
