[PATCH 0/2] hivex: small portability fixes
Hi, this small series cherry-picks a couple of the portability fixes recently done in libguestfs to hivex. There should be no actual change on Linux. [PATCH] configure: Move language binding detection to separate files.
This commit starts to split our massive, monolithic configure.ac file into smaller files, using the m4_include mechanism to combine them. I don't know if we should really do this, so I'm open to comments about it. However: - Our configure.ac script is 1800+ lines long, and that's pretty long. - configure.ac lacks structure; splitting it up might improve that. - From what I read,

Some fixes for building the Debian package for 1.20.2
I needed to add a few patches to be able to build libguestfs 1.20.2 out of tree. Mostly srcdir/builddir issues -- I think that I had posted something for building the daemon before. As mentioned on IRC, I found that compiling (Ruby bindings) caused config.h file shipped with the Ruby headers to be included rather than ${builddir}/config.h. This can be fixed because the relevant checks can be

Fixes from the patch queue of the Debian package
Here are three patches that fix issues with out-of-tree building and one that uses Ruby's own autoconf stuff for determining how Ruby bindings should be built. Cheers, -Hilko

[PATCH 0/9] Small bits of non-Linux porting - #2
Hi, continuing what started a couple of weeks ago [1], the attached patch series continues the work in making it easier to build and run libguestfs (in fixed appliance mode) on OSes different than Linux. The provided changes should cause no functional changes on Linux. [1] https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2014-October/msg00176.html Thanks, -- Pino Pino Toscano (9): build: check

[PATCH 00/16] Refactoring of configure.ac and guestfs.pod
Two (not related to each other) refactorings: Patches 1-12 split configure.ac into smaller files using the m4_include mechanism. Patches 13-15 split out parts of guestfs.pod (ie. guestfs(3)) into three new manual pages: guestfs-hacking(3) - how to extend and contribute to libguestfs guestfs-internals(3) - architecture and internals guestfs-security(3) - security and CVEs Patch 16 is a

[PATCH 2/2] ruby: fix detection of ruby library
Query RbConfig::CONFIG for "libdir", and use that when trying to link to the ruby library. This fixes the libruby detection when it is installed in a non-standard library directory. 1.9.3 release, rakefile
Hi I''d like to put out a 1.9.3 release perhaps later this week/weekend. If you have a chance to test the build and samples esp with latest rubygems, please do. There are still some bugs on the list, and samples to do, but this should address all the build/install probs that have come up. And it would be good to get some testing and feedback on some of the new classes. A note on the

I''m at a loss to explain why the postgres gem will not work on my new server. I''ve gotten it working on several other servers in the past. The major difference between then and now is that I''m using a newer version of PostgreSQL. 8.x as opposed to 7.x. === Server setup OS: Fedora Core 6 (Commands shown with "$" are performed as the same user that mongrel

[PATCH nbdkit] Add support for writing plugins in Rust.
This adds very rough support for writing nbdkit plugins in Rust. This is not very idiomatic -- essentially we're handling the direct C calls from nbdkit in Rust. We have to use ‘unsafe’ in a few places because there's no way to tell the Rust code that nbdkit satisfies guarantees (eg. around thread safety, always returning leaked pointers back to the close function, always doing bounds

wxruby-swig 0.0.13 is up
This fixes the wxRED Mac link error. Thanks to Nick for pointing out that I hadn''t removed some wxRED code related to an earlier experiment. Hopefully this one will build on Mac, end-to-end. I also found and fixed a problem that was causing the crash on exit: wxWindows automatically deletes the C++ app object as soon as the last frame is closed. Later, when ruby garbage collected the

Puppet 3.0 Puppet labs repo package problem on rhel5
Hi, I''m having a weird issue and was wondering if anyone else had run into it. I recently upgraded from puppet 2.7 -> 3.0.1 After cleaning up some gems on my puppet master everything seemed to be working ok. I had originally used the EPEL repo''s to deploy puppet, but switched to the Puppet Labs repos so I could upgrade to 2.7 then 3. On RHEL5 only, I get a RSTRING_PTR

[PATCH v2 0/3 supermin] URPMI & xz support.
Joseph, Please try my modified versions of these patches. These are compile-tested on Fedora and they don't break any existing functionality, but I don't have either urpmi nor a statically-linked xz so I cannot fully test them. I have also fixed detection of zlib (2/3). Rich.
