Problem with ListCtrl#get_item
Hello, I have a problem with getting items from ListCtrl. Although my ListCtrl is in LC_REPORT mode, it has columns set up, every cell is set with set_item and everything displays fine, this code: x = myList.get_item(row,col).get_text() always returns an empty string. For example: myList.set_item(0,0,"Hello") x = myList.get_item(0,0).get_text() now x equals "" ! I

Wx::ListCtrl#get_item method
Hi guys! I have a question (or a request?) on Wx::ListCtrl#get_item method. As you can see in the wxWindows reference, wxListCtrl::GetItem method of C++ is different from that of wxPython. C++ return value: boolean argument: wxListItem& info wxPython return value: wxListItem arguments: int ID, int column (optional) How about wxruby? >From the wxruby source code, wxruby looks

Rubyfication of wxWindows
As I posted to the list, at some point after we''ve fixed all the gaping huge holes we''ll begin plastering over the rougher spots in wxRuby2. I was giving some thoughts to predicate methods, of which there are quite a few in wxWindows. My question is, how far from the wxWindows documentation do we want to move? Do we want to have aliases for all renamed methods? Example:

TRW: getters and setters
Hi all, I mentioned this on the forum but wasn''t sure if anyone was paying attention. I was just wondering if it would be possible to replace the get_something/set_something style methods with the more Rubyish something/something= style (i.e. uniform access). For example, the Button class currently has button.get_label and button.set_label("foo"). It would give me warm,

Patch to 0.0.39
Hi I''m developing software using wxruby2. At first I tried to use wxruby 0.6 but I couldn''t live without some of those new funky features :) So, instead of writing my own code, I got a bit sidetracked and wrote http://rubyforge.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=9297&group_id=35&atid=220 instead. Seeing as this is my first foray in to the innards of wxruby2, I

memory leaks
Have tracked down a fairly serious cause of memory leakage in wxRuby2. swig/fixdeleting.rb adds a hash mapping from pointer address to ruby VALUE in every director initialiser using GcMapPtrToValue. The problem is that being a value in this global hash means that every Wx::Bitmap (for example, and others) are always marked in ruby''s GC mark phase, so they are never collected until

TreeCtrl update
The previous TreeCtrl.i was very messy and just plain wrong, for instance it had GetFirstChild as depreciated when in fact only 1 version of it was depreciated not both. I changed GetFirstChild and GetNextChild to return an array of values to match the wxPython and wxPerl usage. I also noticed that wxTreeCtrl is inherited from wxControl on Windows and wxScrolledWindow on everything else so I #if

Problem with PaintDC(MSW)
When implementing EVT_PAINT handlers in c++ the PaintDC object is constructed at the beginning of the function, and auto destructed at it''s end, which informs wxwidgets that "invalid regions in the window have been repainted". Under ruby, this is not the case and causes a stream of EVT_PAINT events to be sent to the given window (until one of PaintDC objects is destructed by

[LLVMdev] Deadlock in llvm-lit on windows 7
Hi, I am observing a deadlock with llvm-lit on windows 7. When I attached a debugger, the communicate() call is blocked. In file utils/lit/lit/TestRunner.py > # FIXME: There is probably still deadlock potential here. Yawn. > procData = [None] * len(procs) > procData[-1] = procs[-1].communicate() I am invoking python directly on windows to run the unit tests.

Good news on the crashing problem
Tonight, I started to look into why wxruby2 crashes so much. I found that the minimal, image, and calendar samples can run and exit without crashing. But several other samples, such as caret, would crash upon exit. A quick gdb stacktrace showed that ruby was attempting to free an object that wx had already deleted. We have protection against that (added post-swig by fixdeleting.rb), but it

TreeCtrl#get_item_data
Hi I saw from the ChangeLog that [get|set]_client_data was removed from ComboBox for 0.4.0 because the methods weren''t working properly. TreeCtrl#get_item_data still seems to be there. I was wondering if someone who understood the issue could say if TreeItemData might also be afflicted with the same problems? I seem to be segfaulting quite a bit (actually, on TreeEvt#get_item), but it
