[Bug 665] Can't start error opening /var/log/ ...
http://bugzilla.netfilter.org/show_bug.cgi?id=665
--- Comment #10 from Jan Engelhardt <jengelh at medozas.de> 2011-06-24 20:27:26 ---
Because I can't know what the user would like to log, s/he still has to define
his/her own ulogd logging stack (as it is called).

tor and selinux
I'm experimenting with tor hidden services and got it to work nicely on
my Centos7, with tor from epel. That is, until I booted the machine.
Then SELinux kicked in and in the logs there's?
[warn] Directory /var/lib/tor/hidden_service/ cannot be read:
Permission denied
The permissions are
drwx------.??2 toranon toranon????4096 Jan 28 23:39 hidden_service
And SELinux gives the following

dac_override indicates that you're running your process as root, and
it's trying to do something on the filesystem which is not explicitly
allowed by permissions. DAC is the standard POSIX permission

OpenDKIM and SELinux
Following the most recent kernel updates I restarted our outgoing SMTP MTA
which was recently reconfigured to DKIM sign messages using OpenDKIM. This
morning I discovered that Postfix had stopped on that server. Whether it is
related to the Postfix issue or not is yet to be determined but, in the
process of getting things restarted I ran across this error with Open DKIM:

ULOG logging may fail on some ulogd/logrotate configurations
FYI.
I have not been able to determine 100% that logrotate does this, but ulogd
appears to stop logging whenever logrotate runs. So far, the only obvious
commonality that I see is that logrotate ran and that the
/var/log/ulogd/ulogd.syslogemu is completely empty until I restart ulogd.
I have proven that the logging is broken by manually performing a network
operation that Shorewall normally

libvirt, selinux, moving images to ~/images does not work
Hi!
I am trying libvirt on POWERPC64 with the default settings such as selinux
enabled. It is all good till I move images out of /var/lib/libvirt/images/.
http://libvirt.org/drvqemu.html#securityselinux is saying that "If
attempting to use disk images in another location, the user/administrator
must ensure the directory has be given this requisite label. Likewise

[ANNOUNCE] ulogd-1.02 released
Hi!
I have released version 1.20 of the iptables userspace logging
daemon (ulogd). This release is probably one of the last 'new feature'
updates for ulogd, since I'm already working on ulogd2, which includes
support for plugin stacks, IPFIX and ct_acct.
The new Version is available as tar.bz2 only and can be retrieved from:
