Cairo bitmap output should work without X11 dependency (PR#12218)
Full_Name: Craig Ruff
Version: 2.7.1
OS: Irix 6.5.30
Submission from: (NULL) (128.117.8.145)
Cairo based bitmap graphics output should work if cairo and R have been compiled
without xlib support. 2.7.1 gives the "X11 is not available" message in this
case when run interactively, and from my reading the png documentation, calling
png(filename=..., type="cairo") should work.

Dovecot 2.0.2 breakes LMTP delivery for me
Hi,
I'm onboard Debian Lenny (amd64) and just reverted from 2.0.2-0~auto+4 back
to 2.0.1-0~auto+1 because LMTP stopped working completly with the above
Package.
In my setup delivery is done from exim via LMTP to dovecot (Maildir/ext3).
The lmtp dovecot config looks like this:

> user = vmail
> inet_listener lmtp {

GLM and LM singularities
Hi-
I'm wrestling with some of my data apparently not being called into a GLM or
an LM. I'm looking at factors affecting fish annual catch rates (ie. CPUE)
over 30 years. Two of the factors I'm using are sea surface temperature and
sea surface temperature anomaly. A small sample of my data is below:
CPUE
Year
Vessel_ID
Base_Port
Boat_Lgth

Conditional subsetting
Hello-
Upon searching the email archives and reading documentation I haven't found
what I'm looking for. I have a dataset with a time/date stamp on a series
of geographic locations (lat/lon) associated with the movements of animals.
On some days there are numerous locations and some days there is only one
location. Associated with each location is an indication that the quality

Have you guys been following the SSH discussion on Bugtraq lately?
I like their idea the X forwarding should be OFF by default on the
client.

krb5_auth: NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS for users from trusted AD domains in samba winbind > 4.2
Hi,
in our setup, we have a number of AD domains with an exisiting one-way trust between the local domain of the system (which I will call LOCALDOM in the following) and the domain containing the user accounts (which I will call TRUSTEDDOM in the following). The domain controllers run Windows Server 2012.
Beginning with samba 4.4 we have an issue with authentication through pam_winbind on the

Data import from .csv-file with numeric header
Hello everybody out there using R,
How can I import data with a numeric header from a .csv-file?
My file example.csv has the following content (a duplicate measurement of potentials for three different currents):
1; 2; 6
1.0; 2.1; 5.9
1.1; 2.0; 6.0
I try to import the data by using:
>measurement <- read.table("example.csv",sep=";",header=T)
However, the values in the

How to remove column without downtime with ActiveRecord > 3.0?
Removing columns from tables while running application with ActiveRecord
causes errors, because ActiveRecord caches column names.
Workaround for ActiveRecord up to 3.0.9 was to override #columns method in
the model and filter out deprecated column names before migration
(basically - hide these columns from AR). This worked because all column
name related methods were based on #columns call

[fdo] git downtime this weekend
Hi all,
I'm planning on upgrading the git server this weekend, starting Saturday
morning CEST. Git access in particular will be affected. Bugzilla,
email and web pages should operate as normal. I don't know exactly how
long it will take, but I estimate at least a few hours.
Feel free to stop by #freedesktop if you have questions.
Cheers,

[fdo] Downtime on annarchy for maintenance 2013-07-27
Hi,
Annarchy needs more disk space fairly urgently, so I will take the host
down and add some more disk space tomorrow, Saturday. Work will start
approximately 17 UTC. I hope it will be fairly brief, less than an
hour, but it might take longer if we run into problems
Please get in touch on #freedesktop if you have any questions or if this
is a problem for you.
Regards,
