com and dcom?
Hi all,
I was just looking over my "Python Programming on
Win32", and I saw how easy it was to implement COM
objects with Python.
Searching comp.lang.ruby and the RAA, I came across
Ralph Mason''s rubycom package, but the link appears to
be dead. If Ralph is no longer maintaining it, I
definitely think COM/DCOM support should be on our
list of things to work on as part of

FXSplitter width is 1 until created
Why is the width of an FXSplitter equal to 1 before the
FXSplitter#create method is called?
My splitter is configured to have LAYOUT_FILL_X, so wouldn''t its width
be determined before its children were created?
It''s not really a big deal, but I was configuring the split based on a
preferences file during initialize, and couldn''t make it work properly.

FXMDIChild shrinkwrap to content
How can I get a FXMDIChild to shrinkwrap to its content?
Here''s what I''m doing now:
def create(*)
self.height = maxChildHeight + 30
self.width = maxChildWidth + 10
super
end
This works, but I''m not crazy about manually adjusting for (apparently)
frame and title bar sizes.

mdiclient windows do not always activate on click
I just noticed that MDIClient windows do not automatically become
current when they receive a mouse click, but only do so if the click
happens inside of an enabled widget. This may very well be correct, but
if so then what is the right way to handle it, if you want a more
familiar window-manager behavior (click to focus)?
For example, if you change the mditest.rb example like so...

X100P Ireland Red Alarm (AR Tarzi)
Ahhh this could be my problem! I just checked which
wires on the RJ11 cable had a voltage across them and
it was the yellow and green (3 & 4?). From what
someone posted the other day it's supposed to be
Bumble Bee and Christmas Tree.
I did have to get a technician out to fix my line when
it was first installed because it was dead. Maybe he
wired it up incorrectly or maybe they just do it

Problem with X tunneling, su, and xauth
Hi all.
I'm trying to use ssh to connect from a PC (using TerraTerm with the
ssh add-in) to a Solaris 8 or Solaris 9 box (both running OpenSSH
3.7.1p2) to establish a session for X-forwarding. Everything works
great, until I use "su" to change to another account (such as root).
The su'd user doesn't seem to be able to authenticate properly to use
the X-tunnel.

X100P Ireland Red Alarm
Hi,
Has anyone got the X100P to work with an anlogue line
in the Republic of Ireland?
I have the X100P installed but zttool indicates a Red
Alarm status on the card. It is on its own interrupt
and I have tried different PCI slots but all to no
avail.
Are there any alternatives to the X100P that can work
with asterisk and are likely to work in Ireland?
Thanks,
Aaron

Subject: Re: X100P Ireland Red Alarm
Hi,
I suspected that I the analogue phone should have got
a pass through signal when the power was off to the
server, unfortunately it doesn't. I kept asking digium
support about that but they didn't give me an answer.
The problem is how do I identify whether the X100P is
incompatibel with the network or faulty without
possibly wasting another USD100???

iconnect register problem
I am trying to get my connection to IConnecthere.com
working. I didn't have a register command in sip.conf
at first, so I believe that is why it was not working.
However, I can't seem to get the register command
correct, it just keeps timing out. Below is what I
have:

Contradiction in samba documentation
Hi,
I have found some contradictions in the samba
documentation. i am writing them down here so if you
can please verify them.
in heading 4.3.3 of the documentation it says
" When samba is operating in security = domain mode
, the samba server has a domain security trust account
( a machine account) and causes all authentication
requests to be passed through to the domain

says they do not have permission to change the

log into the pdc as root but when I try to do it as
