Sanity check for win32-file
Hi all, The code that I checked in yesterday that seemed to work just fine now fails. When I run this: require "win32/file" fh = File.nopen("C:\\test.txt") fh.close I now get: test.rb:12:in `initialize'': Invalid argument (Errno::EINVAL) from test.rb:12:in `nopen'' Specifically, it''s failing on this in file.c: args[0] =

Threads and IO (gets) still a problem for us?

The thing is this is a known problem for 1.8 on win32. I tried both mingw, VC6 and VC8 with the same results. Saw a post

Hi I try to load an ogg file with the vorbisfile library like this: FILE *f = fopen("test.ogg", "rb"); if(!f) ...; ov_open(f, &vf, 0, 0); But ov_open always throws an exception. Im pretty sure its a compiler problem because the same code worked on VC6. Im compiling my programm with the multithreaded dll option as mentioned on the mailing list bevor. Does anybody know if

Then, MS should adhere to this... However, what you objects against is that MS didn't implement STL the way STL should be implemented. And the reason to

Native Extensions on Windows 0.10 series
Hi all, I''ve just noticed that 0.10 is out and wanted to give it a try on windows. I''m not at all an VS C++ Developer so I might do something very stupid here. My env: Windows Server 2003 VS .NET 2003 On the command line with nmake from VC7 in the path this is what I get: Attempting remote update of ferret Building native extensions. This could take a while... Microsoft

Cannot install Visual C++ version 6.0 (VC6)
I am using Ubuntu 8.10 and Wine 1.1.8 and installed VC6 from a folder VC6 copied from the installation CD. I clicked the setup.exe file in the VC6 folder and the first page of the VC6 installation wizard showed, but when I clicked 'Next' the install failed with message: "ken at ken-desktop:~/Desktop/VC6$ wine setup.exe wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at

[LLVMdev] MS C++ gives error C2371 on this code while (obviously)gcc compiles it fine
Ah, interesting, have not ran across that before (as I always strive to never use the same name as any scope previously), but rather interesting that GCC gets it wrong while VC++ gets it right, kind of a switch. And yes, that switch I mentioned is for VC6 style in VC7.1 (what I use), you have to switch it to make it conformant, nice to hear VC8 does it correctly by default now. On Thu, Oct 2,

DC++ crashes with current CVS wine
Hi! I have a problem, that DC++ client now crashes in wine. The problem is that it crashes using its own exception handler, from the wine's point of view the app is running OK. The client simply pops up a dialog box saying that it just crashed and the debug info is placed in a file called exceptioninfo.txt. OK, the file is really there and it really shows something important: Code: c0000005
