nouveau_subdev & misc patches
Hello all, this series includes a wide range of fixes - from a few
month's old one-liners from Andreas Heider regarding vga_switcheroo, via a
null pointer dereference and double memory allocation, to a buffer overflow.

[PATCH 0/4] nouveau fixes for RPM/Optimus-related hangs
Hi,
Here are two patches to fix an issue reported on kernel bugzilla (infinite loop
due to unchecked function) and a more important fix to fix hanging Optimus
machines when runtime PM is enabled (with pm/pci patches).
An older (obsolete) patch for the first issue was tested by the reporter:

(it is replaced by "check for function 0x1B

[PATCH v2 0/4] nouveau RPM fixes for Optimus
Hi,
Here are two patches to fix an issue reported on kernel bugzilla (infinite loop
due to unchecked function) and a more important fix to fix hanging Optimus
machines when runtime PM is enabled (with pm/pci patches).
See the first version[1] for a background on the fixed problems. This is the
second revision of incorporating feedback from Emil Velikov (patch 1), Mika
Westerberg (patch 4).

[PATCH v3 0/4] nouveau RPM fixes for Optimus (final)
Hi,
Here are two patches to fix an issue reported on kernel bugzilla (infinite loop
due to unchecked function) and a more important fix to fix hanging Optimus
machines when runtime PM is enabled (with pm/pci patches).
These are the final patches targeting v4.8. Changes compared to v2[1]:
collected R-b from Hans and Mika and fixed a minor comment style issue.
I recommend it to be merged before

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: check function before using it
Do not unconditionally invoke function 0x1B without checking for its
availability, it leads to an infinite loop on some firmware.

Fixes: 5addcf0a5f0fad ("nouveau: add runtime PM support (v0.9)")

[PATCH 0/1] vga_switcheroo: Constify vga_switcheroo_handler
Another vga_switcheroo cleanup. Maintainers, is it okay to include the
one-line change of each driver in here or do you want that split into
separate patches?
Thanks,
Lukas

apple gmux
Hello,
Sorry I know this might be the wrong group to ask this in but I have
been having a lot of trouble switching off the nvidia chip in my
Macbook Pro 9,1. I have tried numerous things but there is a lot of
flawed documentation out there on this. I have a pile of info (dmesg,
kernel configs and etc) that I would like to submit as a bug reports
but no clear place to send it.

[PATCH v5 00/12] Enable GPU switching on pre-retina MacBook Pro
Enable GPU switching on the pre-retina MacBook Pro (2008 - 2013), v5.
The main obstacle on these machines is that the panel mode in VBIOS
is bogus. Fortunately gmux can switch DDC independently from the
display, thereby allowing the inactive GPU to probe the panel's EDID.
In short, vga_switcheroo and apple-gmux are amended with hooks to
switch DDC, DRM core is amended with a

[PATCH 0/5] Add the pci_get_base_class() helper and use it
From: Sui Jingfeng <suijingfeng at loongson.cn>
There is no function that can be used to get all PCI(e) devices in a
system by matching against its the PCI base class code only, while keep
the sub-class code and the programming interface ignored. Therefore, add
the pci_get_base_class() function to suit the need.
For example, if an application want to process all PCI(e) display devices

[PATCH] nouveau: Do not use nva3 engine for 0xaf chipset
The nva3 copy engine exhibits random memory corruption in at least one
case, the GeForce 320M (nv50, 0xaf) in the MacBookAir3,1. This patch
omits creating the engine for the specific chipset, falling back to
M2MF, which kills the symptoms.

this patch is still needed in 3.6-rc1, so perhaps we should apply it

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: Add DRM_NOUVEAU_DEBUG option
From: Matt Parnell <mparnell at gmail.com>
Sometimes we have DEBUG_FS enabled, but don't want output from certain modules.
Most modules make this an option, so I figured that Nouveau needed it too.

[REGRESSION] nouveau: Memory corruption using nva3 engine for 0xaf
Hi Ben, Dave,
Since 3.5-rc0, I have been experiencing occasional screen corruption
on my MacBookAir3,1, using a GeForce 320M (nv50, 0xaf). The X driver
version is xf86-video-nouvea-1.0.1-1 (arch).
I do not know what the root problem is, but I have been able to
isolate the symptoms to the usage of nva3_copy.c. The patch below is
the least intrusive way I could find which kills the symptoms.

[RFC] patch 0/4: DRM MMIO accessor cleanup
Hi,
this is continuation for the MMIO accessor rewrite and cleanup.
I am currently running nv28 with these patches applied, but
I cannot test on PPC.
Please, review and comment. If the direction is good, I'll do the
same to INSTANCE_{RD,WR} as I did for nv_{rd,wr}32, and change
PRAMIN from drm_local_map to simple ioremap.
Can the same be done for channel specific mappings, that is

[PATCH 1/4] nouveau: Allow allocating BOs at specific offsets
We want to be able to guarantee the location of the allocated buffer
object if we're going to be able to reliably allocate the existing
framebuffer at startup. Add an argument to do so and pass that through to
the ttm core.
