EverQuest - worked once, but no more
I had a previous install on another computer with the following, and EQ worked perfectly there, with the following configuration:
Laptop: HP dv6355
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 (UMA)
Processor: AMD Turion 64 X2 (1.8 GHz)
Memory: 2 GB
OS: Ubuntu 8.04
Wine: 1.1.4
Unfortunately, the computer was formatted and given to someone else, so I can no longer compare the configurations or run any tests

ASPI problem
Having gotten WinOnCD to start (though the installer fails (*.msi
file)) by copying the files and registry from a windows install, I now
have an ASPI problem. I am able to erase a cdrw from within winoncd
and most of winoncd works pretty much as it should (but no drag'n drop
works). Writing a CD does however not work yet and it appears to be a
winaspi problem:

Sony Digital Voice Editor
All,
I have been trying to get my Sony Digital Voice Editor software to run
with wine. (DVEdit.exe)
I've installed it with the latest version of code weavers (6.2) Standard
for Linux.
I've exported WINEDEBUG=+relay in order to see some detail and am
running it command line as follows:
wine --bottle dve --cx-log ~josepy/wineDVE/wineDebug.log --cx-app
DVEdit.exe --verbose
I get a window

Bug in win32-api with void prototypes?
Hi all,
It seems that a void prototype requires an explicit argument in our
version of win32/api:
C:\>irb
irb(main):001:0> require ''win32/api''
=> true
irb(main):002:0> include Win32
=> Object
irb(main):003:0> require ''Win32API''
=> true
# Our version
irb(main):004:0> GetLastErrorA = API.new(''GetLastError'',

Google Earth: WINEDEBUG=+relay makes wine-preloader <defunct>
Hello!
Using the latest cvs version Google Earth finally installs without using native DLLs. As it does not run I'm trying to find out why.
When running it, GE stops with a message box apologizing for not working.
So I'd like to run it in winedbg, but I only get
WineDbg starting on pid 0xa
Process of pid=0x0000000a has terminated
and not the friendly box.
Perhaps GE uses some kind

Wine unhandled exception running PocketFMS
I'm trying to get the PocketFMS flight assistant program to work under Wine.
This program is available for free at www.pocketfms.com .
The installation of PocketFMS works OK with a few 'fixme' warnings, but
running the installed program causes an immediate crash. As this program is
still in development itself and not designed to run on anything but Windows,
I'd like to know if

[LLVMdev] Problem invoking win32 api calls
Hi,
I use the kaliedoscope tutorial to do some experiments. I'm trying to define
a few win32 functions as extern and execute them from the toy language.
Functions that take no arguments execute fine (for example, GetLastError()).
However, calling functions that do take arguments (for example,
SetLastError(unsigned int)) always crash the application due to some kind of
stack corruption

A quick announcement
Hi all,
In light of Curt''s decision to use VC++ 6 to build the latest one click
installer, along with what are undoubtedly future compatibility problems
between old and new compilers, I think it''s best if we try to move over
the simpler packages to a pure Ruby solution using Win32API. I have
started that process by releasing pure Ruby versions of win32-clipboard

debugging an app
I'm trying to debug a program that page faults on me, and I'm actually
quite keen to have a go at fixing it myself.
Unfortunately, I seem to have fallen at the first hurdle: I can't make
good use of the debug messages.
Background:
The program I am attempting to run is TrackLogs
( http://www.tracklogs.co.uk ). Installation went fine and on first run
I got the licence key dialogue,

Win32API patch?
Hi all,
Passing a Fixnum when you should have passed a String (pointer) causes a
segfault in Win32API.
I''ve already reported this on RubyForge (Bug #3904):
require ''Win32API''
RegFormat = Win32API.new(''user32'', ''RegisterClipboardFormat'', ''P'', ''I'')
RegFormat.call(1) # Boom!
I''ve traced the

Interest in win32-installer
I was wondering if people would be interested in wrapping msi.dll
functionality,
I''ve started writing a small library to enable enumeration of products
installed via Windows Installer using win32api (I know I can also
query via win32ole to win32_product but I don''t seem to get all the
properties that are in msi.h).
It''s a little messy, and I''ve not got far as
