[PATCH 1/4] nouveau: Allow allocating BOs at specific offsets
We want to be able to guarantee the location of the allocated buffer object if we're going to be able to reliably allocate the existing framebuffer at startup. Add an argument to do so and pass that through to the ttm core. Signed-off-by: Matthew Garrett <mjg at redhat.com> --- drivers/bcma/main.c | 1 - drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau/nouveau_bo.c | 8 +++++++-

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: Add a MM for mappable VRAM that isn't usable as scanout.
Dynamically resizing the framebuffer on nv04 was like playing Russian roulette (and it often happened gratuitously) because it seems unable to scan out from buffers above 16MB. This patch splits the mappable VRAM into two chunks when that's the case, and makes the higher one to be used as well when applicable. Signed-off-by: Francisco Jerez <currojerez at riseup.net> ---

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: by default use low bpp framebuffer on low memory cards
Framebuffer's BPP is not that important but can waste significant part of memory on low-VRAM cards. Lower it to 8bpp on < 32MB cards and to 16bpp on 64MB cards. It can still be overridden by video= option. [PATCH libdrm] nouveau: Support fence FDs
From: Thierry Reding <treding at nvidia.com> Add a new nouveau_pushbuf_kick_fence() function that takes and emits a sync fence FD. The fence FD can be waited on, or merged with other fence FDs, or passed back to the kernel as a prerequisite for a subsequent HW operation. [PATCH v2 05/17] drm: Add VRAM MM, a simple memory manager for dedicated VRAM
The VRAM MM memory manager is a helper library that manages dedicated video memory of simple framebuffer devices. It is supported to be used with struct drm_gem_vram_object, but does not depend on it. The implementation is based on the respective code from ast, bochs, and mgag200. These drivers share the exact same implementation except for type names. The helpers are currently build with TTM.

nouveau locking up on Debian Jessie.
Hi Ladies and Gentlemans. I'd like to report a possible bug and ask for help in solving it. I have a Mid 2010 Macbook Pro running Debian Jessie. The bug seems to happen at random, but mainly when using a 3D application with other apps running, such as Chromium (Chrome) and Iceweasel (Firefox). It happens when watching videos with VLC and mplayer2. I hope someone will manage to help. Thanks.

[PATCH ddx] Add support for VRAM-less devices to the ddx
With this patch the DDX almost works with GK20A, the missing piece is adding COHERENT mappings to the right places. ;-) If you specify NOUVEAU_BO_APER the kernel will truncate valid_domains to the domains specified at creation time. This means that as long as we only specify the correct domain in nouveau_allocate_surface the effect is still the same. Signed-off-by: Maarten Lankhorst <dev at

[PATCH 5/5] drm/mgag200: Replace struct mga_fbdev with generic framebuffer emulation
This patch replaces mgag200's framebuffer console with DRM's generic implememtation. All respective code is being removed from the driver. The console is set up with a shadow buffer. The actual buffer object is not permanently pinned in video ram, but just another buffer object that the driver moves in and out of vram as necessary. The driver's function mga_crtc_do_set_base() used to

Libvirt: dynamic ownership did not work
Hi, I have a very strange problem with libvirt. I work on some machines with libvirt (Debian/ Arch Linux) and libvirt set the ownership of images file automatically to the qemu user / group for example on Arch Linux to nobody:kvm. So when I copy an image file with root and use I then with qemu, libvirt change the owner/ group to nobody:kvm. But I also compiled libvirt for a machine (gcc 4.9.4
