dom0 crash, require assistance interpretting logs and config suggestions
Hello, I have experienced a dom0 crash where the system became unreachable via the network and the console was unresponsive. I would appreciate help interpretting the logs and any configuration change suggestions. It is a stock Debian Lenny dom0 running xen 3.2.1 with kernel 2.6.26-2-xen-amd64 and an AMD Athlon IIx4 with 4 GB of RAM. It is running 4 VMs. One VM has two PCI NICs being

VGA passthrough ? AMD-FX8, GA-990FXA-UD3, G210
Hello, Like many trying and posting here, I''m new to VGA passthrough. Computer was bought, checking compatibility from http://wiki.xen.org/wiki/VTd_HowTo The hardware is mostly not exactly on the list, but mainly new versions of the same series (I think). IOMMU "seems" to be working (not 100% sure what to check). I used debian/wheezy kernel and xen, dom0 and HVM domu.

Spectacularly disappointing disk throughput
Greetings! I''ve got a FreeBSD-based (FreeNAS) appliance running as an HVM DomU. Dom0 is Debian Squeeze on an AMD990 chipset system with IOMMU enabled. The DomU sees six physical drives: one of them is a USB stick that I''ve passed through in its entirety as a block device. The other five are SATA drives attached to a controller that I''ve handed to the DomU with PCI

Centos 6.4 - doesnt power off with shutdown/poweroff cmd
Hello, I'm looking for help figuring out why I am having problems with shutting down a machine. I have tested the machine using Fedora 19 and Ubuntu 12 Live CD's and both power down without issues. I added acpi.debug_level=1 to the grub boot as it was suggested to see more info about ACPI in the logs I found the following ACPI Errors in the /var/log/messages Oct 11

IOMMU and AMD 890fx
Hi, All the reviews for the AMD 890fx chipset reported that it supports IOMMU v1.2. But I cannot find any mention of that on AMD site. Does 890fx support IOMMU? Do 890fx motherboards with IOMMU exist? Does Xen support 890fx? OT - small hd recommendation
A little OT - but I've seen a few opinions voiced here by various admins and I'd like to benefit. Currently running a single combined server for multiple operations - fileserver, mailserver, webserver, virtual server, and whatever else pops up. Current incarnation of the machine, after the last rebuild, is an AMD Opteron 4180 with a Supermicro MB using ATI SB700 chipset - which

[PATCH] drm/nv50/graph: add more trap names to print on error
Signed-off-by: Ilia Mirkin <imirkin at alum.mit.edu> --- I made the assumption that showing the address is generally useful. Worst case, it won't make sense but still be displayed. Seems simpler than special-casing things. drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau/core/engine/graph/nv50.c | 117 ++++++++++++----------- 1 file changed, 63 insertions(+), 54 deletions(-) diff --git

Fwd: Problem with GT218 (GeForce GT210)
Hm, well you can see the messages about failure to set plls, which is why you don't see anything. The only odd thing I see is that you're using vesa, which can definitely mess things up. Try not using that. Also try booting with nouveau.debug=debug drm.debug=0xe which might provide more relevant info. On Jun 12, 2015 8:34 AM, "Andre Campos Rodovalho" <andre.rodovalho at

sshd double-logging
Hi all. As Corinna pointed out, there are some cases where sshd will log some authentications twice when privsep=yes. This can happen on any platform although it seems most obvious on the ones that don't do post-auth privsep. It also occurs when sshd logs to stderr (eg running under daemontools) or when you have a /dev/log in the privsep chroot. The patch below attempts to solve this for

Bug#755753: xen-hypervisor-4.1-amd64: xen crashes at random
Package: xen-hypervisor-4.1-amd64 Version: 4.1.4-3+deb7u1 Severity: normal Hello, I was running Xen for a few years and after a PSU failure I never got the system working stable again. I suspected damage to the board so I replaced everything in the system piece by piece but Xen enabled kernel always crashes even with only Dom0 running when moderate amount of IO happens on the box. kvm seems
