Problem reading log with win32-eventlog - buffer too small
Hi all, A user recently ran into an issue with win32-eventlog and the EventLog#read method when reading a saved log file. It seems that there''s an issue. After some experimentation I found that the problem seems to be that the initial buffer to ReadEventLog() in line 558 is too small, so it tries a second call to ReadEventLog() with a larger buffer. The problem is that, after I

[Fwd: [win32utils-help][6822] Eventlog problem]
Dang, I thought we solved this. Any ideas? Dan PS - I realized after reading this I forgot to bump the version number for 0.3.3 - I''ve uploaded a new zip file with the correct version number. -------------- next part -------------- An embedded message was scrubbed... Possible problems with EventLog#write
Hi, I''ve got EventLog#write and EventLog.add_event_source methods done. Well, I *think* they''re done, but I can''t get the data (text) to work properly, and I''m not sure if it''s a bug in my .mc file, the add_event_source method, the write method, or just a goof in my test file. The source, category and event id seem to be ok. However, the

That''s weird. Line 296 is just a call to FormatMessage(). Folks on the mailing list - could this be a wide character issue? Buffer too small maybe? uninitialized constant ActiveSupport::Cache (NameError)
Hi After having updated some GEMS I get `load_missing_constant'': uninitialized constant ActiveSupport::Cache (NameError) on starting the server of a freshly generated rails project. Before, I already had Rails 2.3.2 projects succesfully running, now all of them generate this error. These are my GEMS: actionmailer (2.3.2, 2.2.2, 2.1.2, 2.1.1, 2.1.0) actionpack (2.3.2, 2.2.2, 2.1.2,

Calling CreateFile on an instance of File - possible?
Hi all, I''m going over win32-file this weekend. I''m creating instance methods for setting (or unsetting) the various file attributes. So, you can do something like: f = File.open("foo.txt") f.archive = true f.hidden = true f.close This works for the basic attributes, but it requires extra work for others. Specifically, I am having trouble trying to set the

Getting an actual system error
Heya all, I don''t think I''ve been paying attention. When a Windows API function fails, I could have been doing this: raise SystemCallError(GetLastError()) Instead of this: # Where ''Error'' is nested under the current class. raise Error, get_last_error I''m not sure how big of a deal this is in practice, however, or if it''s even preferred for

Bug in win32-api with void prototypes?

Hi, Hm, the string inserts are different, too. Any encoding issues? Your user name uses extended ASCII, too, right? Not sure if that''s significant or not.
